I was certain that any minute, I would wake up in my bed and realize that I had been asleep the whole time. Chapter fourteen: Prom: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly At school, the promenade dance was just a month away. You might know it as prom, as it's commonly called by American teens. I was now fifteen years old. The dance floor flooded with patrons ready to line dance, but ‘These Boots Are Made for Walking’ and Hank Williams Jr’s sweet voice would not save either of them from the long night ahead.

Kindly go to the dance floor and have a dance with our Prom Queen."

She teased making me chuckle as we both made our way inside the prom. TYLER As we stepped inside the prom venue, Miles and I couldn't help but gasp in amazement. The room was transformed into a stunning wonderland, with balloons and streamers in every color of the rainbow, and a disco ball hanging from the ceiling, casting dazzling lights across the dance floor. The tables were adorned with elegant centerpieces, and the food and drinks were laid out in abundance.

They stepped in when couples danced too close, chastising them, then patted the men on the shoulder. “As you were.” They pretended to taste the punch to make sure it was safe. Laughed and kibitzed as if this were their prom. They danced as if they were teenagers. The music was perfect, a blend of songs from when I would have attended prom and today’s music. Fast songs that made Aiden take the floor, and everyone give him a wide berth. Slow, romantic songs that had all the couples up, wrapped in each other’s arms. Even songs for the kids to stumble around the dance floor to, Richard leading them.

It's only 3 hours until 5 PM and the prom will start at 4:30. I reread Garett's last reply to me. it's just a simple reply but it made my day even earlier. I smiled as I looked behind him. finally! he agreed !! he will be my partner! it's just an emoji but I'm laughing. I decided to text Ayumi even later we will meet because of Prom. I really do wish that this day will be the greatest day of my life.
