Then, the elegant furnishings of the guest house came into focus, bathed in moonlight streaming through floor-to-ceiling windows. The bedroom door burst open. Alex stood in the doorway, barefoot and shirtless, his eyes scanning for threats. The moonlight carved shadows across his muscled torso, highlighting a tattoo over his heart – some kind of tribal design that seemed to shift in the darkness. "Beth?" His voice was rough with sleep, but his eyes were alert. "What's wrong?" "Just... just a nightmare," I managed, wrapping my arms around myself. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you. Tracing the image I enjoy watching Damon shiver while I whisper, "it's beautiful."

And my recent nightmares are related to the birthmark on my body. The Celtic symbol looked exactly as I remembered it from my dream, and before I knew it—just like in my vision—I reached out my hand to touch it.

I realized how much I missed him, more than I had admitted to myself. “You really love tattoos,” I remarked as he casually removed his shirt. His back was covered in intricate black and gray tattoos—half a skull, half the face of a crying woman. His shoulders and arms were adorned with shading, letters, and flowers that had intertwined over time. I noticed the names of my parents, mine, and his pack etched on a cross. My dad would have had a fit if I had even a single tattoo.

The icy blast would’ve made anyone else recoil, but Dante stood there, solid and unmoving, like he was made of stone. His back was a canvas of ink, just like his front.
