I walk through the house and out to the front porch to smoke in peace. I light one up and as soon as I take the first drag, I hear someone walk out and say, “Smoking is bad for you, you know.” Of course it’s Cade. I snort and look up just as he’s pulling out a pack of cigarettes and say, “It’s just as bad for you as it is for me.” I turn around to lean my back against the railing and look over at him. He just nods and takes another drag. “So,” he says, “did you enjoy your little makeout session with Xander?”

It looked like something that should be hidden behind locked glass in a questionable bookstore aisle. I flipped it open anyway, because apparently I had no survival instincts left. "Please.. I cant-" I paused. Read it again. Then slowly looked up at him. “…I’m not reading this.” His eyebrow lifted. “You promised.” “This is not a book. Quinn tapped a cigarette out of the pack and put it in her mouth. "Is it okay if I smoke in here?" Quinn asked as she knew that some men were very particular about women smoking. "Oh, I don't mind at all. Go ahead and smoke!" Xavier then handed her a lighter. After lighting the cigarette, Quinn took a few deep drags and then rolled down the car window. "What's wrong? Is something bothering you?" Xavier asked. He knew that Quinn only turned to cigarettes when she was upset. Quinn rested her arm on the window and glanced over at him. "It's nothing. You want a smoke?"

Harbem had finished his first cigarette and lit another from the end of the first. “Sure.” Harbem handed her the cigarette as he began to roll a new one. Alexa sucked in a breath along with the tobacco and breathed out. The night air was cool and the smoke dissipated slowly. “It seems the letter made you unhappy?”

After a while he spoke again "If I wanted to report you, I would have done that long ago. " She rolled her eyes, still glaring at him, "so what?" "How about you try to read what's written on this pack?" He asked, gesturing to the cigarettes. She bit her lips gently, staring at him like he just said something so off. He stared back, titling his head and giving a light shrug towards the pack. She let out a loud sigh before reading out aloud. "Smokers are liable to die young!"

He put one of the thin white sticks to his lips and flicked a silver cross-engraved liter, igniting the end of it before taking a drag from it and putting the liter away. Layla watched the thin white puffs of smoke flare from his nostrils and mouth as she stood there in amazement. She had not liked smokers herself due to her father being one, but she found something relatively sexy about how smooth this handsome man had been when the smoke filed out of his flaring nostrils.
