Tyler swims faster. What kind of magic is this? As we approach we see it’s some kind of dome, the humans are not humans at all, they have fish tails and are swimming around. “Are cows and lambs cute? Of course, they are, but humans slaughter them for their meat to fill our stomachs!” “Are foxes and minks cute? Of course, they are, but humans make clothes out of their skins to withstand the cold!” “Humans like sashimi, so they take meat from living sea creatures!” “Humans like foie gras, so they fill the geese’s stomach with food!” “Humans loathe rats, so they drive them to extinction!” “Humans loathe mosquitoes, so they invest huge amounts of money to develop all kinds of poisons and repellents that are only effective against mosquitoes!”

The other replied, shrugging. "Humans aren't despicable. My best friend is human, and she's not inferior to any of you just because she doesn't have a wolf!" I shouted impatiently. "Humans are disgusting. Here, in this pack, we hate humans. They don't know about our existence because if they did, they'd hunt us like animals and put us in their zoos for entertainment. They're dumb, weak, and stupid! If you like them so much, go back there. Obviously, your place isn't here!" The man replied, serious and angry, and everyone around agreed.

“Because you people are amusing. You all laugh loudly. You weep openly. You argue with no fear. It is entertaining. I playfully glared at him. “You make us sound like puppies.” He raised both hands as if surrendering. “I didn’t mean it that way.” I laughed. “We’re not pets, you know.” He smiled and leaned back. “I know. But there’s something… free about humans. Something that wolves don’t have.” I tilted my head. "What do you mean?"

Alcohol didn't affect us like Humans anyway, so it didn't really matter. When we got inside the club, it was swarming with people. There was a mixture of Humans, Wolves, Vampires, and some other species. Maybe Witches? I wasn't all too familiar with the other Supernatural species and could barely tell Wolves apart from Humans. That was pathetic on its own. We rarely had to deal with any other species, so I was very much in the dark.

Now it's an entire Town, with a lot of shops, restaurants, grocery stores, clothing shops etc. When the town got so big, It caught some people's attention, so they moved here. Most of them move away again , since the werewolves are mean, cruel and sometimes scares them away. I think the only humans that live here now are mated to a werewolf. It doesn't really matter if anyone wants me in this town or not, they can try and scare me away but I won't leave, since I have no choose but to live here.

When my fingers are close enough, I brush them down her cheek. "So young. So naive. My dear little mouse, they talked about how big of a monster I am. They made it sound as if all werewolves are just as horrid. The humans are afraid...and what do humans do when they are afraid? They kill, my sweet pet. They kill. Even though we have been living side by side for thousands of years...that won't matter because they are scared," I say softly, and my little mouse actually blushes due to my touch.

And she’s a human being. So this is why I’m mateless until now. My mate is a human being! The huge excitement of finding my mate is dampened by this cold fact. Werewolves don’t intermingle with human beings. Finding the mate is the most important and exciting thing for us werewolves. But having a human mate means more trouble than happiness. I lean back on one elbow, gazing up at the mural again. “You know,” I say thoughtfully, “I’ve always loved that this mural shows humans and werewolves as equals, building Ordan together. Most historical accounts erase the human contribution.” Arthur follows my gaze upward. “The artist was ahead of his time.” He laces his fingers through mine. “I hope to change that, you know.”
