We both ordered our food and waited for it to arrive. "What's it like being an elf?" Adria questions me quietly. I lean back and think about it and shrug. "Same as you being a human, it just is, we are basically the same with different ears and a much longer life span," I chuckle at her crinkled brows. "'You're the same as humans below your waistline as well?" she asks, her cheeks pink. I laughed loudly and nodded, watching her turn redder. Her eyes remained turned down and I smiled at her curiosity.

“The Humans? he repeated slowly, his voice low, careful. “Yes,” she said firmly. “The Humans. I’ve scheduled a meeting with their representatives. They’re leaders in agriculture, and their expertise could be exactly what we need to turn things around for us. Our neighboring packs can only offer so much—we need more. They need more. In the distance was a man reaching out his hand towards her. Sharmaine smiled: "No, I want to be a human. I can feel the scent of flowers and the warmth of the sun. I'm a greedy person, I want to enjoy the warmth of People." Sharmaine used to think humans were so small and pitiful. But Sharmaine knew that humans have things that vampires and werewolves don't have. People can walk under the sun, people can comfortably smile and face life.
