I lean back on one elbow, gazing up at the mural again. “You know,” I say thoughtfully, “I’ve always loved that this mural shows humans and werewolves as equals, building Ordan together. Most historical accounts erase the human contribution.” Arthur follows my gaze upward. “The artist was ahead of his time.” He laces his fingers through mine. “I hope to change that, you know.”

“They have witches in their pack. They’ll be fine.” I jumped down after stacking up the machines as I watched them run into the woods with blood trails everywhere. “So… who were they?” I was curious. “Rogue wolves. They don’t care what species they merge with themselves. They just do it because they love the feel of taking what doesn’t belong to them. Those people you punched are what we call humans. You can tell by their height. So enjoy it." He said bursting into another pool of laughter.

“The Humans? he repeated slowly, his voice low, careful. “Yes,” she said firmly. “The Humans. I’ve scheduled a meeting with their representatives. They’re leaders in agriculture, and their expertise could be exactly what we need to turn things around for us. Our neighboring packs can only offer so much—we need more. They need more. He stuttered and I nodded. “It’s sick, Mr President, let me tell you a few things about these creatures. They have more than triple of the normal human strength. They can be both humans and animals. They can run, smell things from a great distance and in battle? They’re undefeatable.” I explained and his jaws dropped.
