A Forsaken Soul
One night, he made enough food for a grand seven-course meal, consisting of burned, overcooked, dried-out, and even singed dishes that disintegrated upon a breath.
He even tried being all romantic by bringing out the scented candles and lighting them up, instantly filling up the dining room with pungent smells.
"Winnie…" he started, choking on the intensity of the smells. "Listen up! I like you, okay? I know why you didn't agree to go out with me, but… But you have to promise me something!"
I looked at him in confusion.
"You must promise to go out with me if there's a next life after death!" Hal said, sounding confident as he exclaimed in a loud voice.
