Kailo shifts quickly, his clothes ripping, and his body increasing in size. In seconds, Kailo becomes a large orange-red dragon, with a muscular form and short, powerful wings. “He’s not a Fury,” I mutter in realization. One of the guards nods. “Lyza and her uncle are the only Fury dragons that anyone knows of.” I hear a cry and see Lyza on her hands and knees. Her face is twisted in pain as her bones move and rearrange themselves. Her skin slowly becomes black and scaled, and her limbs bend into clawed feet.

My dragon growled, deep enough to shake the ground. A young dragon, thirteen hands high, stood outside my cave. He was just in his cloth, no weapons or shields in his possession. Not a single scar on his body; his dragon was not old in the slightest. Adam must have sent him because no other dragon would dare come here to deliver a message. Not to the monster.

I asked Abeloth. “Are you asking for my help?” he asked me. “Fine, I’ll slay this dragon all on my own,” I said as I pulled the knife out and grabbed the dragon’s horn. I swung myself over the dragon’s head as he tried to bite onto me and stuck the knife deep in his neck and pulled down on my weight. The knife’s blade started cutting through the dragon’s thick skin and when I reached his most vulnerable place where his chest and neck met, I pulled the knife out.

Linking my arm through Jade’s I began pulling her along to follow the boys. “Come on, try to get there before the sun starts coming up.” We met up with the guys, which Kellan had already shifted into a large green Dragon, but while he was magnificent, it wasn’t nearly as impressive as Cyran’s Dragon. Once we were all settled on Kellan’s Dragon, luggage and all, Kellan spread his gigantic wings and flapped them a few times before taking off into the night sky.

I wouldn't let her get the last stand in this duel. Running up to her, I slid under her and through the sand, using my momentum to my advantage. I unleashed a plume of fire underneath her belly, burning her stomach. I had read how the belly was one of the most sensitive areas on a dragon.

“Then I’ll stop you.” She stared. “Can you?” His smile faded. “For a moment,” he admitted. “And only at great cost.” Her heart dropped. “But,” he added, stepping closer again, voice lowering to a fierce whisper, “you’re not alone. Not tonight. Not ever. Dragon magic responds to instinct, not fear. Dawlya magic responds to intent, not panic. You can do this.” Avi inhaled shakily. “Ready?” he asked. “No,” she said honestly.

George pointed out. 'He cannot believe how stupid and naive Christopher is. He is been living in the human world since he is born, but he doesn't know how the dragon system works.
