Something Happened Book Novels & Stories

It stuck, and wouldn't remove. Her guts encouraged her to touch the book. And she did. She touched the book, and then slanted it, as if, wanting to remove it from its position amongst the books in that particular shelf. But as she did so, she heard unlocking sounds, and watched as the library parted into two, from that particular book. The book was divided into two equal parts now. "You did it!" She heard Anthony say, and turned and look at him. He was smiling down at her.

As I bent down to scoop up my finds, my eyes caught on something strange. A massive, leather-bound book was wedged tightly between two heavy book cases, shoved into the narrow gap where they met. That’s weird, I thought. Why would someone hide a book like that? I walked toward it, reaching into the gap. As my fingers brushed the leather, I jumped back. The book felt warm, almost hot, to the touch. Curiosity won out over fear. I gripped the spine and pulled. It didn't budge. I planted my feet and gave a hard yank. Slowly, the book started to slide out. It was almost completely free when a voice startled me.

I wandered the aisles, running my fingers over spines and letting myself forget for just a moment. Then I turned a corner, unsuspecting of the person about to take the same corner with me. We ran head straight into each other, and when I looked up, the world stopped. My heart slammed against my ribs as my lungs forgot how to work. Every instinct screamed at me to run because staring right at me was my very own ex-husband. The book finally slipped from his fingers and hit the floor with a sound that echoed like a gunshot.

So why? Why am I dying already? I reached out the book from my bag. I was on my way home but I decided to stop by the local bookstore to buy my book. I heard it was trending so I wanted to check it out, then, before I knew it, I got caught in a car crash. I’m dying. I was really dying. Fate was too cruel, it's so unfair. Then it was nothing. The darkness surrounded me and I was certain I drew my last breath. But just then, something miraculous happened.

The book I was reading wasn't in sight, so I went exploring the shelves until I found it at the top. I opened it and began searching for information about my strange kidnapper and my nephew's father. It was then that I came across a title that caught my attention: “The Rise of Harvey Bloodclaw.”

*Chapter 5: The Darkness* As the car approached, Emma's heart was racing. She covered Sarah's body with her own, bracing for impact. But instead of a collision, the car screeched to a halt just inches from their bodies. Emma's eyes were fixed on the car's door as it swung open. A figure emerged, tall and imposing. Emma's instincts screamed at her to run, but her body seemed frozen in place. The figure loomed over them, its features obscured by the shadows. Emma's heart was pounding in her chest as the figure reached out a hand.

I flipped it in the next page but I only saw a blank page, all of the pages were now pure white like nothing is really written in there. "What are you doing?" I almost jumped in surprise after hearing a voice beside me. "Nothing," I answered and closed the book. His eyes widen just by looking at the cover of it. "Have you seen something in that book?" "Just the first page" I answered but he seemed so shocked by my answer. "First page?" He asked like I just did the most imposable thing in the world. "Yeah, this one." I flipped the book to the first page but it became blank suddenly. I just saw it a while ago! How did it happen? I checked all of the pages thinking that it must be in somewhere

Where did he find the book exactly? I dusted the book and flipped the first page but see the first page is missing and the worst thing is it was handwritten. Useless. I turned the book and looked at the last page. "Please don't ignore the book. The whole incidents are true and I predicted all the things accordingly. It would happen in the future. Please be careful with Heil. He will crush the whole city down if he doesn't get what he wants." The words are readable even though the author has written this in a hurry.

"Fabby. How did you find me?" He opened his mouth to say something but before he did, I–already feeling queasy– lurched forward and vomited on his shirt. His body tensed for a while but he grasps me so I don't fall and then thats all I can remember cause I welcomed the darkness that followed. ***** Sadly but still happily, the book is coming to an end. Thanks all those that have been in this ride with me. I love y'all too much

Everyone from the book club came as well, so they finally get to meet the women they helped us charm week after week. Harper watches Gwen and Annie like a hawk, smacking my arm and motioning towards them every time one of them smiles at something the other one said. Eventually, people start to disperse and say their goodbyes. What started out as a sad affair turns into something beautiful. Rather than a funeral, it felt more like a remembrance. A testament to the amazing woman that meant so much to all of us. After a few more minutes Bri asks if they can leave, clearly having had enough excitement for the day. I follow Jack over to the table and grab the plate I brought my brownies on. He pi
