Silent Howls
The snow dusted the branches like powdered sugar, and the pale-blue snow blossoms peeked up from the frost, as if determined to keep blooming despite the cold.
A narrow river cut through the forest, its water so impossibly clear that I could see every smooth stone at the bottom. In winter, rivers were supposed to freeze, but this one flowed like a living ribbon of silver.
Just like me, Stacy’s eyes were also widened in awe. She gasped dramatically.
