STONE HEARTED
Kelvin inquired, brushing a strand of hair away from my face.
Suppressing the flutter in my stomach, I responded, "Yes, you should." He chuckled in response.
"I suppose that makes me special to you," he remarked, and then we fell into a comfortable silence.
It was an unusual quietness, more peaceful than awkward, as we absorbed the calmness of the surroundings.
"Did you know that when people die, they become one of those stars?" I gestured toward the twinkling celestial bodies above.
"I don't believe in that sort of thing, but just for today, I'll entertain the idea of making you happy," Kelvin spoke, and I shot him a playful glare.
