I glanced at Liam to ensure he was comfortable, and he nodded. Toralei explained the rules of the game: we would spin the bottle, and whoever it pointed to would pick a card from the box. The card would determine whether the person would be dared or asked a question. Toralei spun the bottle slowly, and my heart raced as I followed its movement. This story was written in different character's perspective and her back story before His Fragile Flame. You don't have to read the first book to understand this novel, and I think it's better if you read this before that because HFF has spoilers.

I replied, trying to sound nonchalant. The men around the table exchanged skeptical glances. "You're not very good at this, are you?" another man sneered. I felt a surge of anger, but I kept my cool. "I'm just getting started," I said, my eyes locked on the cards. That was when I noticed that I had been dealt the dead man's hand - the ace of spades and the eight of spades. It was a bad omen, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.

He seemed to be the one she saw earlier upstairs. "The other one is Jack, and that's Queen." (Their code names... they're named after cards.) After Ace individually introduced his teammates and pointed them out, he held her hand again, diverting her attention from the men in front of her. "We're done here. Go back to your positions now," ordered Ace to them. "It's our break time, boss! And why can't we shake hands? Our hands are clean!" Spade protested, but when Ace glanced at him, he pressed his lips tightly and nodded.

"Three kings is the highest?" The room fell silent. Logan extended his hand and revealed his cards one by one: Ace of spades, ace of clubs, and ace of diamonds. Three kings against three aces. It was a once-in-a-decade showdown. No one could believe it. Logan sneered as he reached for the pot. "Wait," Dominic said calmly as he rose to his feet. Logan paused with a mocking smile. "What? Is there a problem?" "There is," Dominic replied evenly. "Are your hole cards truly three aces?"

Stella froze for a moment before reaching out stiffly. She picked up the top document with a dismissive look, clearly assuming it was just a bluff. However, the next second, her expression changed instantly. The disdain vanished, replaced by shock. Her pupils shrank. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. "How… how is this possible…? "How do you have this many shares?" Hudson rushed forward, snatching the documents from her hands. "Impossible! This has to be fake!" He shouted, "You're lying! Damon, how could you possibly have this kind of money? These shares… these clearly…"
