As she’s about to leave the room, someone called. “Hey, I’m leaving the hotel. My car service is waiting,” she talked to the person on the other line. “I can’t wait to see you here. We’ve so much to see and talk about,” Noah said. Cela gave her room one final look. This is the place where she leaves her old self. “We wanted to go to a specific place and it didn’t matter if the road was rough and the journey was long. In the end, we found different places for ourselves but these places were the destinations where we were truly meant to go,” she said to herself. The fourth book begins at chapter 1 in Paris. On the high-speed train home, the scenery outside passed by in fragments, but I could not focus on any of it. Shanine slept soundly on my shoulder. She had drunk too much the night before and had been rushed onto the train early this morning, leaving her half-dazed. Her hair brushed my neck, carrying the familiar scent of her shampoo. Yet, my heart felt strangely quiet. Almost empty. That happiness had arrived too fiercely, and it had disappeared just as quickly. Phoebe sat across from us, wearing headphones and scrolling through her phone. Occasionally, she looked up, our eyes meeting briefly before she quickly looked away again, as if nothing had ever happened.

What happened to me? In an instant, Rowena pushed me out of her mind. She hurried over, carefully helping him sit up and gently feeding him the oatmeal. By the time she thought of me again, the hospital room was already empty. I had long since returned to my own room and begun packing my luggage. When the maid saw me, she sighed and shook her head, clearly hoping I would stay. As I packed, I said softly, "It's fine. Please tell Ms. Atkinson she doesn't owe me anything. I owe her far too much."

The city’s heartbeat was relentless, a rhythm of horns, voices, and rushing feet. For Liana, every step on the crowded sidewalk felt like a declaration: I am free. The suitcase she pulled behind her was light—most of her belongings had been left behind in the Hale mansion. Jewelry, gowns, the countless trappings of wealth—all of it had been meaningless, bought to cage her rather than to honor her. A fireplace flickered low in the corner, casting gentle light. I walked in slowly, half-expecting a trap. Dorian stayed at the door.“I’ll be across the hall.” I turned, surprised. “You’re not staying?” The question sliped out of my mouth, before I realised what I asked.

It was a small book, wrapped in brown leather, and coated with dust. I blew some dust off it, before glancing at the first page. Empty. I turned to second, and it was empty as well, then I skipped a multiple pages, landing in the middle… “Spare none, we hunt to survive, we die if they survive.” I read out the words aloud to myself, “What is this? Some sort of code?” I sighed, letting the book drop—but then a couple of sheets stuck out from some page in the book, and when I took it out, I fixed my eyes on the drawings, and certain familiar words.

I found a book that seemed nice and pulse-racing, Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts. I took it off the shelf and looked back at Ashton who was now holding Jack in his hands. I went to the till and paid for the book. We then went out of the shop and headed to the car park. When we got to the car park, I got in and took Jack from Ashton to remove him from the cover and place him back on the stand. It was around 5:30 pm so we still had some time before heading home. Ashton read that from my mind and then he went around the car, got in and sat on the seat next to mine.

The title of the book was, 'My Last Wish'. The book was about a beautiful poor and hardworking girl called Daisy. She was smarter than most in the Country of Envia, despite being a peasant. Her one desire in life was to visit the palace library. Like me, she had been an orphan, but unlike me, she had been adopted by an abusive family. One night, tired of the abuse that her adoptive mother's drunken escapades brought, she fled their cottage. On the road, she ran into the carriage of a nobleman, who took pity on her situation.
