Sparrow: A Novel Novels & Stories

Roaring flames lit up the bedroom, sending waves of heat and smoke that choked me to tears. "Sweetheart, stay there and don't move!" Hearing the voice message my husband sent me, I finally realized that I was reborn. My husband's name was Joey Pierce, and he was the captain of the local firefighters. In my past life, I trusted him completely, not moving a single muscle even when my flesh was burning while waiting for him to come in and save me.

Although he’d been on death’s door while being rescued from the alley, Jasper had a faint recall of being draped over the vampire’s shoulder and flying through the air for a considerable period of time. Because of this, he naturally assumed that their mode of travel to retrieve his notes from his lab would be the same. His first response when he slid into Rowan’s limousine was to mentally mock himself for thinking that they would fly instead of drive. He said nothing to Rowan about his assumption. In fact, as time passed and the road took them closer to their destination, he questioned if he’d really flown at all. Perhaps it was simply some type of crazy illusion by a man who was barely

She alone remained there, My little swallow, And I'm here in this foreign land. I miss her day and night. Sorrow, sorrow for that girl, For green Forterein; Sorrow, sorrow, heart is crying, I will see her no more. Wine, wine, give me wine! And when I die bury me In green Forterein, By my dear girl. By my dear family. The crowd cheered, more and more of them came. “We want that new one!” the crowd reacted even more. “One…two…three…” Aster counted until the song started:

as a response. Sparrow yelled at her, "I still wonder how the fuck you lost that tiny girl, you should have just told me you can't handle her, are you telling me she's now stronger than you?!!" Sparrow said. "I still wonder how the fuck you lost that tiny girl." "I would have gotten that money back if the second bitch hadn't shot her arrow and you know that," Erin said to the other woman. "And you know that." said calmly Sparrow yelled at Erin, "Then you should have fucking taken the money before the second bitch got there!" Erin yelled back that she did take the money before the second bitch got there.

After Ivy left, Sparrow entered with a formal bow. "I am Sparrow Wilson, granddaughter of Nanny Winters. Elder Morgan has assigned me to serve you alongside Ivy." I studied her cautiously. "You mean to spy on me for Elder Morgan." Sparrow didn't flinch. "My loyalty is to Elder Morgan, yes. But through her, it extends to you." Her frankness was refreshing. "At least you're honest about it." Alone at last, I reflected on Elder Morgan's naive faith in family reconciliation. I had lived through my parents' rejection once before.

He roared, and with a wave of his hand, the giant flaming red sparrow shot toward Garuda and his two comrades. "Die! All of you can go to hell!" Darryl's voice was hoarse, and the anger in his heart rose at the thought of the Red Sparrow Queen's death. Even though they were not friends, he could not help but feel guilty for the part he played in her death. More importantly, the Red Sparrow Queen did not hesitate to burn her life and passed on the Power of Bird Ancestor to Darryl. He was not human if he did not avenge her.

A couple of weeks later... "What are your plans, Friday night?" Alicia asked, perched next to Fred as he sprinkled the scones. "Nothing really," he replied, turning his attention to her. "Got any plans?" She nodded cheerfully and dug two movie tickets out of her apron's pocket. "It's a movie adaptation of a work by only the greatest author of all time!" Alicia gushed. "Shakespeare?" Fred asked, arching an eyebrow. "No!" She looked horrified. "Paris Hills, dummy," she joked, play-punching him.

The wheels bumped and crunched over things that she hoped weren’t people, before turning and pulling away from the street with its protests. A phone rang and the man, Sparrow, kept one hand over her mouth, and his body pressing down on hers as he retrieved his phone from his pocket and put it to his ear. She wondered how his phone worked when no one else’s in Havermouth seemed to function with any reliability.

I found a book that seemed nice and pulse-racing, Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts. I took it off the shelf and looked back at Ashton who was now holding Jack in his hands. I went to the till and paid for the book. We then went out of the shop and headed to the car park. When we got to the car park, I got in and took Jack from Ashton to remove him from the cover and place him back on the stand. It was around 5:30 pm so we still had some time before heading home. Ashton read that from my mind and then he went around the car, got in and sat on the seat next to mine.

"I am not crying. I am sweating from my eyes." Sparrow drove in silence for a long stretch, and I let the city roll past the window, the lights smearing into gold, until we turned into a neighborhood so quiet and so green that it felt like another country.
