My sincere thanks to you for reading the short book, Epidemic. This is actually my first sci-fi and zombie type of story, but I hope I did well, and I'll surely work more on improving myself. I wrote this book in a day without even planning for it before (LOL). A colleague of mine asked for one of my works to be added to an anthology he is currently working on. He specified it must be sci-fi, I've never written any sci-fi book before, so I had to quickly put down something. It's kinda funny, I know. "I'll do my best," I replied, my chest swelling with a sense of patriotism, as I had been dreaming to serve the nation after I enrolled in military school back in the day. And I wouldn't have dragged my feet for so long if I hadn't fallen in love with Claire. - The days following my arrival were busy but felt fulfilling, as I would rise as early as seven and only go to bed past ten. The lab became my favorite place, as I often hang out with my colleagues to discuss plans, data and solutions.

In fact I have a story, I'm writing it just for myself, if I decide, I can send it to a publisher, but I don't dare, I'm afraid of being rejected. I'm feeling sleepy, but I can't fall asleep, I'm in working hours. I keep reading my book. Many books have happy endings, I would like to have a happy ending, with someone special, someone I really love, someone who deserves my love. I don't know why but, we women have the gift of falling in love with the biggest jerk. I mean, the guys who look for us, who vote for us, we don't pay attention to them; but, those who don't even look at us and who are unreachable, we do like them. What's wrong with us? Or with me.

No spectacle. People filled the space—friends, strangers, two former residency writers, one surfer who claimed to have met Franc years ago “in a blackout with good intentions.” When Yam stepped up to the mic, he looked over the crowd. Then at Franc. Then opened the book and began: “This is not a love story that waits for perfection. It’s one that chooses to stay— Even when the mug breaks. Even when the words come crooked. Even when the only thing holding you together is the fan spinning above your fears.”
