"This spell will allow you to communicate with each other telepathically." The class murmured in excitement, and Master Colt raised his hands to silence us. "The Mind Link spell requires concentration and control. You must be able to clear your mind and focus on the spell. There's also a challenge: you'll be tested, and if you fail, you won't be able to get the spell. Are you ready to begin?" We chorused, "Yes, Master!" Zina handed out the spell-books, and I smiled as I collected mine. It was boldly written: "Guard for Learners."

The device in her hand connected to the circle via a visible light wire. On the screen of the device, there was a progress bar as well that was reversing. “Hey, is that fine?” “It’s just the soul energy being consumed. It’s fine.” Pearl said. Sweat trickled down her forehead and cheek. Bronto understood that this spell took enormous focus to pull off.

Dominic continued, “I have to teach you the in-cantation. I cannot say the parts all together or they will trigger the spell. So I’ll give it to you in pieces. Once you have them all, you can put them together. Okay?” “Yeah. I understand.” “Blitha is the first part.” “Blitha,” Leesa repeated. “Next is egras.” “Egras.” “Finally, sumuss.” “Blitha egras sumuss,” Leesa said. Since she didn’t know exactly what the spell was supposed to do, she didn’t really expect anything to happen. She was surprised when she felt a slight tingling in her body. “Did you feel anything?” Dominic asked. “When you said it?”

Last I knew they couldn't speak, maybe with my added power I could finally understand them. "You should go with them" I said, pointing at the fading traces of the group. One of them stepped forward, he seemed a little larger than the others, a little bit taller. "We swore an oath," he said, speaking in tongues. His voice was rough and loud, commanding. "An oath to be your warrior guards, to protect and defend your honour. We cannot go" he replied. "You swore? When was this?" I asked, interested in this particular tidbit of information. I was goofy like that.

Hilda pouted and punched the bricks of the cemetery. "You know what they say about friends and enemies?" Dad cocked a brow at an indifferent Hilda. "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer?" I raised my chin and studied the environment of the cemetery. The gate was opened but we couldn't step in because of the boundary spell. Everywhere is eerie silent and there is no creature in sight. "Correct. I know you always inherited your smartness from me." Dad ruffled my hair and gave me a cheeky smile that revealed his deep-rooted dimples.

The dawn of our work had been enshrouded in an eerie peace, broken only by the distant murmur of the stirrings of city life. The weight of our mission weighed heavily on us, but the purpose in our hearts was unwavering. Today, we are going to expose the nefarious activities of the secret group and expose their devices. She knew the spell. “No.” She shook her head. “You can’t.” She clawed at my hand, nails scratching at my skin, but I shifted my hand into my claws and dug in. She cried out, and I smiled. “Kintashen.” I screamed the last word of the spell, then I pushed all the power that Rowan had gifted me into it. “May the goddess have more mercy on your wolfs soul than I have on yours.”
