Suddenly he picks up my right hand, and I look up at him. He's staring at the burn on the back of my palm, the one I got from spilling my coffee on my hand.
“Did she do this?“ He asks as he looks into my eyes. His tone is soft, but his eyes, are hardened. It sweeps out my anger for a moment.
“No, I—”
“I spilled coffee on my hand by accident.”
He lets go of my hand, and without another word, walks out of the eyes; my eyes follow him as he disappears from view.
Just like that? Why did he even come here in the first place?
