I looked up. At the top of the cave, eight red eyes glinted with malice. A Venom-Mist Spider! What were these creatures doing here? They lived in the Death Mountains, much further north! The spider lunged at me. I desperately tore at the net, my wolf claws ripping through the sticky silk. The poison was already taking effect; my vision was blurring. Its massive jaws snapped at my head. I twisted sideways sharply, shifting back to human form and drawing the silver knife Rhys had given me.

He balanced himself on his toes and still had the watch in a countdown. He patted her head as she was on the floor shaking. “If you didn’t have too may drinks, this would have been slower” he said. “W-what are you talking about?” she asked softly. “Well poison that’s all” he patted her head again and then grabbed on and pulled her up, and put the timer in her face. “The venom of a Redback Spider causes all the symptoms you’re having now, and can kill a human under an hour. You ingested five to six doses and that could accelerate your death” he grinned.

"You're pretty damn lucky! I set a venomous snake on you and even took your antivenom, but you still didn't die! "Why won't you just die? Die already! Die!"

Alex said. Alex turned to look at Uncle Drake. “Uncle Drake, this thing is venomous. You were poisoned earlier. Let me tend to your wound.” Shura Spiderwoman’s poison was much easier to deal with than the poison that afflicted Jade Benmore. Besides, Uncle Drake’s shoulder was only affected a little, and it wasn’t a big deal. Alex placed two Zharvakko Talismans on Uncle Drake’s shoulder before channeling the toxins out. He looked at the spider. The spider raised its fangs, dripping with black venom. Valen’s eyes flared gold. He didn't pull. He pushed. He opened his mouth and bit the air in front of him. CRUNCH. A sound like a thunderclap inside a jar. The spider didn't explode. It imploded. It crumpled inward, as if a giant invisible hand had crushed it into a singularity. Then, a stream of blue light shot from the crushed carcass into Valen’s mouth.

Now I was just a mere snack, like all those before me spread out below. My wolf stirred in my head. Finally, she seemed to have her strength back, giving me a flicker of hope as we were slowly but surely escaping out of the trap. I had to execute this flawlessly. I knew I only had one shot. If the venom hit my body, I did not know even with my enhanced healing how I would survive this. It’s not like there is a history of these types of injuries. Besides, the venom would essentially immobilse my body, stopping me from being able to fight back or move before I was eaten alive. I don’t understand how more people aren’t scared of spiders.

If I wasn't mistaken, he definitely drugged those tissues with chemicals that'd make me pass out quickly. The first time this happened, I had passed out immediately after using the tissues he handed me to wipe my tears, only waking up to see cremated ashes.
