As it pulled itself from the ball, it’s eight arms spread outwards; each with a hook on the end instead of fingers. The thing clung to the webs, munching on the ones it had torn away, while its beady eyes fixed on me.

“Her wings…” Unlike regular queen bees with larger abdomens but functional wings, the mutated queen bee looked like a butterfly that had been hatched from its cocoon prematurely.
