With a final, brutal motion, he twisted her arm, disarmed her, and shoved her hard. She stumbled against the broken railing — and it gave way.
For a heartbeat, she hung there, wide-eyed, fingers clutching the edge. “Damian,” she hissed. “You’ll regret this. She’ll destroy you.”
He didn’t reply.
Her grip slipped.
She fell.
The Spider’s body hit the fountain below with a sickening finality, crimson blooming in the water like a dark rose. The fighting slowed as both sides turned to see their queen’s demise. Her guards froze. Her soldiers faltered.
