Miss Daisy had asked the class to paint what we thought our wolf would look like, most of the class had already shifted so had to call on memories of before seeing their wolf which resulted in a lot of arguments but for me it was easy, I thought they’d be a soft grey or creme colored; probably with my purple eyes. * We drop in. The Court joins. It’s chaos. Beautiful, perfect, ours. I activate **Blood Rain**—gentle mode first. Violet drops fall upward from my palms, spiraling around the park like reverse snow. Healing mist. Everyone’s minor scratches (from yesterday’s over-enthusiastic spar) vanish. Seras laughs as her armor regenerates a dent she got from Lucian’s tail. Lucian roars approval, wings flaring. Kayo flips through the rain, tails glowing brighter, foxfire mixing with blood droplets into pink-violet fireworks.

"Higher, Daddy! I'm flying!" Howard laughed, "You're the best pilot ever—faster than Superman!" Charlotte waved from below, heart melting. "My daredevils!" Next, Splash Mountain—Mirabel buried her face in Howard's chest on the big drop and then popped up giggling. "Again! Wettest fun ever!" At a character dining spot, Minnie Mouse hugged Mirabel, who fed her pancake crumbs. "Mommy, Minnie loves pandas too!" Charlotte winked. "Shh, our secret weapon."

Sera cried, voice breaking, silver sparks spraying helplessly from her trembling fingers. But Damien was already there. His wings beat once, hard and the sky ignited. He dropped like a meteor, claws outstretched, and smashed into the fox with earth-splitting force. Fire roared from his jaws, engulfing three of the tails in a burning inferno. The stench of scorched fur and sulfur filled the air.

Rain handed sparklers to the children, who squealed with delight as they waved them around, tracing glowing patterns in the dark. “Ready for the big finale?” Rain asked, holding up a box of fireworks. “Yeah!” the twins shouted in unison, bouncing with excitement. Zyrielle leaned against the porch railing, watching as Rain set up the fireworks. She couldn’t help but smile. This was what she had fought for, a life of peace, love, and family. The first firework shot into the sky, bursting into a cascade of golden sparks. The children clapped and cheered, their faces glowing with awe. More followed, painting the night sky with vibrant colors and patterns.

Somehow, Adams had twisted my favorite game into something deadly. Every attempt he made to kill me nibbled at my confidence. Adrenaline made my senses sharper, suppressed the fear and made me faster. I knew he would kill me if he found me. I wouldn't make it out alive. A stone whistled past my ear and struck a pine tree by my left. He had started using the catapult and from the distance and aim, he was good. I zigzagged through tress and a low branch hit my face so hard, my vision blurred a bit. I didn't have time to examine the scratch neither did I have spare energy for that.

I hear the gasps of the sprites, but they continue to remain silent, not saying a word. When I’ve pulled the light as far as I think I need it to go, I cast a spell to hold it in the air. I look up and tell Xander that he can let go. He does slowly, as if he thinks the light will drop and when he steps back, the look on his face if very similar to that of the sprites, awe and wonder. I start at my end and begin coloring the rectangle in the colors of the rainbow, red moving to orange, shifting to yellow, darkening to green then to blue and indigo and finally violet. I step back looking over my rainbow of light before casting the final spell.

All that pain turned into a single, white-hot point of power in my chest. My own back began to itch, then burn. Two wings of blue fire erupted from my shoulders, matching the orange wings of the ghost. "Now!" the Two Hazels screamed at the same time. We flew off the platform together, diving straight for the giant glass spider. The Eraser tried to strike us with its legs, but we moved like lightning. We weren't just two women; we were a storm of fire and code. I slammed my blue-fire fist into the spider’s main eye. At the same time, the Ghost Hazel drove her orange fire into its heart.

All Rain saw was code flying by as Lightning’s fingers flew over the keys--like Lightning. “Rain--thumbdrive!” Lightning said without even looking away from the keyboard. “Right.” Rain was so scatterbrained at the moment, she wasn’t sure she’d recognize a drive if she saw one. She started opening desk drawers, looking through them furiously, knocking supplies on the floor. Staples, rubberbands, pens…. “All right,” Lightning said as Adam headed for the door. “I changed it to one, two, three, four.” “Wait--Adam, what are you going to do when you get them out?” Rain turned and looked at him over her shoulder, not sure she was ready to see him go.
