After a belch, Porcius held his gut and stood. “Take guts or no brains to crawl through that and see what ya can see. These people are scared of the things in the earth, right kid?” He reached out and slapped Rufus on the shoulder. “Aren’t you afraid of such things?”
Rufus stepped away from him, and said, “The children of the night could dwell down there. They are tiny.”
Porcius laughed. “I’d fear some Karkinos, big ol’ crabs. They pop out of tunnels in Greece not even near the sea.”
