I demanded. Spiro finally looked at me. There was reverence in his eyes. And fear. “Nyra killed Lucian’s dragon,” Spiro revealed. I stared at him. The battlefield seemed to tilt. Spiro looked back at Lucian, who lay naked and smoking in the crater, stripped of every scale that had made him royal, dangerous, and more than human. “He is just a mere human now,” Spiro breathed.

I sighed and told them what the spirit told me. “But why only to Lady Seraphina? The spirit could have just meet Sir Zale, and since he is a water element user, the heir to say the least, why not him?” Asked Notus while looking confused. I sighed and just crouched to be at his eye level. “If the spirit were to summon Zale, then it will just end there. Remember when I said that the vengeance spirit was a fire? Lyra POV Even as she nodded, she could feel Cinder coiling tightly inside her chest, a subtle vibration of alertness and warning. The wind carried scents she couldn’t immediately identify, but her instincts prickled. Her past training at Emberclaw, every lesson Kael and the older warriors had instilled in her, flared in response. She had learned to trust her senses, to read the forest in ways humans never could. She picked up a faint, metallic scent on the breeze, mingling with smoke from the cooking fires. Something was approaching, she could feel it in her bones, and Cinder echoed the alarm with a low, internal growl.

“It’s a cyborg that looks like him!” Although she would have expected him to suffer much more from her powerful kick in the groin, the cyborg was effected enough by it to loosen his grip enough for Kendra to break free. Without skipping a beat, she stepped back enough to give her the space that she needed to twirl her body and kick her foot into his gut with such force that he fell back onto the ground. Seizing the brief opportunity the cyborg laying stunned offered, she turned and ran toward Felix. “Go back. Get back into the house! He won’t stay down. Get the baby. Save the baby!”

Zephyra I had been watching Cindy, something about her felt foreboding; she kept looking around the room and texting on her phone and quickly hiding it if someone walked by her. I took in her features, she was a skinny brunette with a square jaw, high cheek bones and black eyes. She looked so familiar, her name even felt familiar; Cindy’s personality reminded me of a woman named Ciana from the Night crawler pack, she despised me, and Cindy did not like me, no matter how nice I was to her, but tonight something felt really off, like my gut was warning me about something; I just did not know what.

All the dragons and riders feel it.’ Well, that’s new. Cyryl dives, blowing her fire over the ones who just sent a harpoon through blue Pynyl’s wing. She’s crying piteously at the pain, but Cyryl’s fire burns the harpoon out of her wing. She still has the hole and will be unable to fly, but Skylar can heal her after the battle is done.
