She spoke as she reached for her. She lay on her stomach against the ground in a heap. The slashes across the back of her neck exposed to the air as she bled out against the cold ground. Adelaide knelt on the ground beside her as her eyes ran over her marred back and legs. The agony that Adelaide had felt had been hers. The same as it had been with her own family.

Nikolai turned around and rushed off to the ongoing party to find their car in an attempt to hide his completely red face from Hunter. Hunter, on the other hand, chuckled at Nikolai before bending down to pick the girl up in his arms. She was so light, despite the weight of her clothes bringing her down. Her face had turned white and her lips were blue. As Hunter climbed upwards from the ocean sand to get to the car that Nikolai had pulled out for him, he heard the sound of wolves from the opposite side of the ocean line. Their paws were getting nearer now. But unfortunately, they were already too late.

I scrambled, struggling to run as fast as my legs could carry until I stumbled upon a stone and fell. Then….they pounced. Dozens of them. Shrieking and Screaming as they Clawed at my arms, my face, my throat. They were on every part of my body. My pendant flared once again, bright gold and they recoiled like it burned them. But it too was fading fast, like they were draining its power and couldn't curtail them.
