Stan was here. "Come in" I called out, my voice firm despite the fear that was gnawing at my insides. Stan entered the bathroom quickly, his eyes immediately landing on Rima. He moved to shut off the water before crouching down beside her. He pulled a forehead thermometer from his medical bag, pressing it gently against Rima's forehead. As he waited for the reading, he glanced up at me, his expression serious "Tell me exactly what happened" he instructed, his voice calm and steady. I quickly relayed the events leading up to Rima's collapse, my eyes never leaving her as I spoke.

“You’re so adorable, Missy. I was just messing with you, and you took it seriously?” “Besides, why would I trouble you with something like that?” I wasn’t sure if I was imagining it, but he seemed to put extra emphasis on those last few words. I let out a breath, unsure if I felt relieved or a little disappointed. “My name’s Stanley Lewis, but you can just call me Stan.” As he spoke, Stanley casually pulled off his tank top and walked shirtless into the bathroom. It wasn’t really a full bathroom—just a small area sectioned off with a semi-transparent curtain.

In response, Amanda retorted, "Hmph, I kidnapped Stanley? Ask him what he has done." Concerned, Patrick approached Stanley, inquiring, "Stan, what have you done?" Still tied to the stool, wearing only underpants and visibly weakened, Stanley pleaded, "Patrick, Stella,, please help me!"

I glanced at Stanley and smiled. “Nice to see you again, Stanley,” I muttered to my friend from my adolescent years. “Get something to cover yourself,” Nathan growled at the nude man. I laughed at Stanley's bare butt heading quickly to the cabin. “You know him,” Nathan asked me. “Yeah, my father worked with his dad until he died,” I mumbled, then started coughing. Nathan started moving to the cabin and Nolan rushed ahead to hold open the door for us. As we passed Nolan, Nathan told him to help Stanley get the ingredients for the tea he had mentioned.

“What are you planning?” Ryder is about to reply when he’s interrupted by someone squirming. They glance to their side only to find a man who is in rags. The man is on all fours with a haggard expression and a disgusting stench coming from him. He has lost a significant amount of weight and one of his feet is tied with metal chains. “Wa…ter…” he whispers. The pitiful sight of the man doesn’t make the siblings flinch at all. “It’s in the dog bowl in front of you, Anderson,” Ryder simply says.

"I understand. That's fine. " I smile in reply. "Pardon my manners lady. I am Stan. Stan Devin. I live down the road a few blocks from the high school. " "Nice to meet you Stan. I am not sure we have met before. " I say wearing a confused look about me. I have been away from my duties for long enough and I am itching to get back inside the kitchen. "No, we haven't Missy. At least not in person. I have more than enough water color and pencil sketching of your face littered around my place as we speak. " My face screws in more confusion. A deep feeling of nervousness settles in my stomach.

the man says smoothly, and Stan nods while smiling. He drops the man's hand and gestures toward his office door with his head. "Let's go take a seat in my office," Stan says and the man follows as Stan opens the door. They each sit down and Stan eyes the young man curiously. Stanley is finding him to be a little odd. The young man's fingernails are dirty and that makes him curious. The man is dressed nicely, but the thick dark line of dirt screams filth. There is a sharpness to his eyes that Stanley finds odd as well, but the man is human and not much of a threat.

"I'm taking my bath, or are you going to watch?" James shrugged, nonchalant. "Take them all off. We're all men here, and everything looks the same—though I won't be looking even if you showed me. I have one myself." Stan was actually dumbfounded—when did this man become so horrific? "Do you know no shame?" He snorted. "Just trying to make you laugh." James grinned. Who on earth would try to make anyone laugh like this?! And they were both fully grown adults! "Stay all you want." Stan sighed and left to take his bath.

Even though I was fully clothed, I felt like I was naked. I tried to wring some of the water out of my t-shirt, but I just felt like I was wringing my pride. Why did I have to sit on the edge of the bathtub? Now I was in an uncomfortable situation when I spotted Stanley staring at me. 'I'll change the water.' I quickly turned off the tap and opened the bathtub's drain. 'You will catch a cold, go change' he said in a clear tone, was he not drunk just now? He just sobered up, Stanley coughed and threw his bath towel, and turned around.
