McGregor had been fully invested in time travel, to the extent that every single paper there had something to do with the phenomenon that had me back here. I took the very last one and turned it in my fingers, to read the only highlighted text. My breath stopped in my throat as I read it, my chest heaving. I felt my eyes moisten, and only came back when the first drop hit the brown aged paper in front of me. I stood, just as Luke walked in. "Hey. You were here." I turned to him, immediately putting the paper behind me, then crumpling it. "Well, I somehow ended up here."

“Wait, no, that is not true when it comes to all women. Kataleya does not have me wrapped around her finger.” Does she? I try to think of everything and narrow my eyes. I need to keep an eye on it. I’m not fucking whipped. “Sure,” he says in the same mocking tone before he winks. “Adiós.” He disappears from before my eyes, and I look around, left with his words lingering in my mind. A man who can travel through time… An ability that is equally deadly and dangerous… I look upwards before motioning to the guardsmen, and feel the bubble become smaller as it pushes me up through the water until I can see the sun shining through the water.

He muttered. Lia nodded slowly. "How long have I got left?" He paused, staring into nothingness for a little while, then breathed out the words; "I think around 90 years." Lia gasped, putting a hand to cover her mouth. "Only 90 years?" "I'm sorry, kid. But Star Wars have lied to you. No, you will not be living for 400 years. Maybe a hundred more, tops." She giggled, then jumped up on the bed taking the covers off. "I'm bored. Mom just stepped out for a quick call but she's coming back in with one of her boring stories."

I later found out that my wife had found me unconscious in my office and called for an ambulance. During my overall analysis I found out that time travel had a physical and mental draining effect on the body of the traveler. The past and the future were both detrimental but where the future was more gradual and slow in draining the life span of the traveler, the past was more drastic and devastating to the traveler’s health. There was no great discovery on earth that had no sacrifice and so was time travel. Considering the enormity of my discovery I guess my sacrifice of not sharing my findings with the rest of the world and also losing my health to cancer was the sacrifice I had to make.
