A Mother’s War
Before he could process it, the announcer’s voice echoed across the hall:
“Up next, we welcome our final group, Our host of this year’s competition. The one and only Hero community Music Centre!”
The crowd applauded.
“We need to hurry and get backstage now!” Mr. Kola urged, waving them along.
“Remember, Tyler, you start with the instrumentals: “la, la, la, la, la, la, la. Then she comes in: I wasn't jealous before we met. Got it?
They both nodded.
“Now go kill it!” Mr. Kola said, giving them a little push toward the stage.
Tyler walked slowly to the center, with his white shirt shining under the lights.
