He then intentionally used 800 dollars to buy canned sardines and crayfish just so he could pin the blame on Dad!" I barked out an indignant laugh. "You should make sure that your story is logical before you weave your web of lies, Jordan. Why would I be standing here and risking capture right now if I did steal the 80,000 dollars?"

"You asked for the devil's help, remember? It's a little late for moral qualms about my surveillance experience." I want to tell him I only asked because I had no one else to turn to, because Rowan would think I’m insane, and because Sebastian is the only person I know who operates in the grey areas of life. Hi! I want to write for this story more, but I don't have much time left and my priority right now is the Stolen alpha. But I did have some time last week, so here is chapter four. I find that if I don't write for a while I am taken out of the story and have a hard time writing for it. So I think once I do have time I just have to spend a few hours planning this storyline and typing some chapters before I can actually feel ready to publish.

Then I stop. I look at the empty space on the shelf. They will notice. Not tonight. Maybe not tomorrow. But soon. And when they do, they will know who took it. They will hunt me. Unless... Unless I give them a reason. Unless I leave a message that changes the context of the theft. I walk to the small table in the corner of the vault where Aureliano keeps a ledger. There is a pen. I tear a page from the ledger. I write. My hand shakes, but the letters are clear.
