Stealing Speed Book Novels & Stories

MILES' POV My hand slams down on the steering wheel as I hit the horn, speeding past a smaller vehicle. Water splashes from the puddles on the road, spraying across its sides as I drive past. The rain falls in thick sheets, hammering the roof of the car, blurring everything outside into gray streaks. The skies have opened up to unleash a storm that matches the one inside me. I do not have a destination in mind. I just drive. I do not get to finish with Morena and Lolita before I leave the dungeon. Spending one more time in that place would have made Titan take over and rip them into pieces.

Stephanie, one of Chloe's friends, replied. My curiosity got the best out of me when I moved slightly to the side, making it very obvious I was listening to them. The next thing I noticed was a book flying towards me. At the last moment, I managed to dodge it by shifting to the side, and the book landed on the floor with a thump. I heard loud gasps as most of the students present were surprised I could avoid it. I think mostly because, first, the speed at which the book was thrown wasn't normal, and it was with the intent of causing damage. Therefore, I shouldn't have been able to avoid it so fast since it was believed I have no wolf.

“If you two are done marking territory, there’s a storm coming. You’d better move.” I let Lyla go, but not before one last, lingering look. She grins, fierce and bright and alive. I turn for the woods, every cell in my body screaming to stay, but the Rogue, the safety of my pack, is bigger than either of us. I melt into the shadows, the taste of her skin still on my tongue, and run until the cabin is nothing but a memory behind me. Tracking in the Veil is more art than science. Every scent lingers, every print is softened by moss and shadow, every snap of a twig could be wind, prey, or something hunting you. I run silent, letting instinct do the work.

"You asked for the devil's help, remember? It's a little late for moral qualms about my surveillance experience." I want to tell him I only asked because I had no one else to turn to, because Rowan would think I’m insane, and because Sebastian is the only person I know who operates in the grey areas of life. Who understands that sometimes you have to bend the rules to get to the truth. Who won't judge me for doing something that feels dangerously close to stalking. But the words die in my throat. Because Jane’s car is slowing down. And I see the Grandview Hotel rise ahead of us.

The lid, as if it had a will of its own, landed directly on my leg. A loud crash echoed as I collided with the ground, unable to utter a sound from the pain. "What happened?" Jeffrey was the first to rush in, visibly anxious. In his haste, he stepped on my hand while dashing straight to Rhianne's side. "Eleanor, I warned you already. What kind of tantrum are you throwing now? Don't forget your place," he berated through gritted teeth. Before I could pull back my red and swollen hand, Ivor trod right over the same spot.

That would be a disaster but I think it had to be against the rules. Someone came to stand next to me, folding their hands across their chest. It was William. “I didn't know you were interested in stuff like this,” he said. I glanced at him. “I just started getting into it,” I replied. I took my eyes back to the game. “Jackson is really into stuff like this.” “Jackson, huh?” Once Speedy was out of stuff to throw, Jackson switched gears. The sports car pushed forward, gaining on Speedy who had a hard look on his face. When he noticed Jackson approaching, he would swerve, blocking whatever space Jackson could have used to overtake him.

She whispered again and I replied to her with a simple yes while awkwardly hugging her, trying not to give out our conversation to the man with the gun sitting behind the wheel, in front of us. Minutes later we arrived at an abandoned warehousing complex, he parked the car and told us to get out. But before I even get out Jill pretend to trip and out of nowhere pulled a knife and stabbed the guy to his gut. He didn't see it coming and he slumped to his back his head hit the cement hard. The stalker barely had time to point his gun at Jill, I know should've lain low but my body went still.

It stole my precious book! All of my attention was poured into the dog, I was about to catch it which I didn't know I could run this fast. Maybe it's because we're talking about a book, so it's like this. I was just a little bit close to catch it when it suddenly turned to the left side which is the grassy part. Because of my speed, it was hard to stop. The acceleration was at full speed that it was impossible to brake. When I looked up I saw a girl in a beige dress carrying many books that almost covered her face. Before I could swing and dodge it was too late and we collided.

“ I honestly don’t want to hear any excuses. You won. I’m done. Enjoy your life.” She takes off across the street. Out of the corner of my eye I see something move. I turn just in time to see a black SUV coming right at her at high speed. “ Lilly, look out.” Lilly turns but it is too late. What happened next I swear was in slow motion. Like something out of a movie. I saw the front bumper hit her so hard she flew through the air. Her body hit the windshield with enough force to shatter the glass, then rolled off the hood to the ground where she rolled twice more before she stopped moving face down on the asphalt. I’m already running towards Lilly when two large guys dressed in black jump ou

The only downside is I can't pick up on things as quickly when I am running this fast. "Let's slow down a little," I tell Dominic. He slows his pace a little but not much. I can hear the snarls and whimpers of wolves as I get to the border. There are a hell of a lot more than twenty rogues here. I catch movement to my right and see a rogue barling at me. Dom drops his head and catches the wolf by surprise. Dom jumps on his back when he loses his footing, snapping his spine. Rogues don't usually have groups this big what the hell is going on? I look to my left and see that Nathan has two rogues on him at the far end. I use my speed to make it across the area. I hit two rogues on the way, knoc
