Stealing Speed Book Novels & Stories

Nothing peculiar—. GOLDILOCKS. For some reason, that title stood out. Gold. Locks. These two words kept burning in my mind like they mean something. “Can it be?” My hand reached out before I could stop it. Experienced, my index finger hooked on the top of the title and pulled. Click, clack—SHWOOP! The entire row of books vanished at the blink of my eyes, and a gold safe deposit box greeted me. “Fuck, it’s password locked.” I breathed, my fingers running lightly across the keypad, my brain fiercely weighing the pros and cons. A grip of determination later, I’ve decided.

There it was! He stumbled into the car. Luckily, his car key was still in his pocket. He slid it in, and twisted. The car started. Without waiting for a gradual acceleration, he fired the car off. Behind him, through his mirror, he saw his killers harassing a group of bike men, and collecting their bikes from them. They mounted the stolen bikes and moved against Liam's car. At top speed. Liam steered into the highway, sandwiching through cars and trucks. "Look where you're going, fool!" the drivers should after him.

Leaning against Tilly, I feel a bruise forming where my body hit the car and I know I’ve made the right decision. Atlas Steele can never know about this baby.

With supernatural speed, Kyle seized the intruder, spinning him around and sending him crashing to the floor. The intruder scrambled to his feet, his eyes wide with fear, and made a frantic dash for the door. Kyle, anticipating his move, vanished in a flash of lightning speed, reappearing in front of the door, his tall, lean frame blocking the intruder's escape route. The thief's eyes went wide with terror as Kyle materialized before him, his face pale and sweaty. He slammed on the brakes, his feet flying out from under him, and he crashed to the floor with a thud.

The sun was up early, ready to witness the stupid mess I was about getting myself into. As expected, when I reached the end of the street, a car was tailing me. I turned left and proceeded to hurry, but then slowed down as pain shot through my wound. I looked behind me and saw an SUV with tainted windows. Great. This reminded me of some kind of FBI thriller books I’ve read. Just that in those books, the Protagonist always manage to get away. I on the other hand was bundled like a sack of potatoes and thrown into the trunk of the car before it sped away, making me hit my wounded side on the hard floor.

The heat in my face tried to climb again; I held it down with insulted dignity and stubborn breath. “Again.” We worked in a rhythm built of orders and falls. He rapped my knuckles with the flat when my guard drifted. I bit back the hiss. He cut at my shoulder, and I put steel there just in time; vibration sang up my arms and set my joints on fire. “Speed is your coin,” he said, low. His breath touched my cheek, a cool ghost in the heat I was making. “Spend it to take distance, spend it to steal it. Never pay for pride.”

He watched his prey as he finally settled in a street to look at what he stole. Silas knew this was a good time to make his quick attack, the coast was clear and he was clearly distracted. He had to hit him hard and fast, to ensure he didn't recover. He was now ready to run fast into him and in an instant he was off. He was pretty quiet for the speed he was accelerating at, like his feet were barely touching the ground. It was as if he was running on thin air but actually he was not. He was only running on the tips of his toes very fast so as to make little or no noise.

"What is about mother that y'all are trying so hard to hide? Why are you all being cowards?" Instead of answering, he snatched the book away from me. "Give me that." I tried to snatch the book back. He stepped back, holding the book tightly. I moved closer to him but before I knew it, he was already at the end of the room. I opened my mouth. I was shocked to the bone marrow. How did he get there in seconds? How did he move with such.... incredible, unnatural speed? The speed at which he moved shouldn't have been possible for a man, this pale and with freekle bones. But then, he was a werewolf. I knew everyone here had incredible strength and speed but even at that.....

Serena "Catch her, thief!" the bookstore owner yelled, chasing me. I only giggled, knowing he was no match for me, running with the book in my arm. I hadn't planned on stealing, but with everyone talking about the novel and the villainous cannon fodder having my name, I didn't have a choice. The novel had been sold out for three weeks. People fought over the last copies online. Bookstores had waiting lists longer than university admission queues. Every review claimed the same thing.

Cassie was as wide eyed as the rest of them and turned to catch Henry quickly avert his eyes from her. “What are you—” “Blimey, look at the time! We’d better hurry up!” Henry spoke hurriedly, desperately trying to rid off the nervousness in his voice. “Alright lover boy, let’s go,” Lucas said mildly, dragging Marcus along with him who had been rendered motionless by the then blushing Bianca Sinclair. It had all happened so fast. The super car thief was racing down an avenue in Midtown in his Devel Sixteen when he suddenly stepped on the breaks, the car’s wheels squealing hard before the car finally came to a halt.
