His cold stare could make a grown man piss. The power he held over the economy was more than the President itself. She tied her hair in a long braid . After wearing her boots, she zipped her black jacket and straightened up her knee length skirt. With a small duffle bag, and a mouser kept hidden in it she walked out of the house. It was 2AM and no one was on the streets. She ignited the engine of her car and drove to her destination. The routes of the mansion were printed on her brain. Like planned, she parked her car 800m away from the mansion.

My car is speeding at least over ninety-miles- per hour backward and heading towards oncoming traffic. “Oh, my God! Please, no….” I wish I could see who has stolen my car as they fly past me, but they are going too fast to make out. The only image I catch is a distorted black shadow in the seat. I cannot even tell the gender. Their shape, though, seems odd, almost inhuman.

Levi’s POV: As I raced through the streets with the speed of my intermediate form, a sense of urgency propelled me forward. The unusual aura that surrounded the city library had set off alarm bells within me, an instinctual warning that something was amiss. Without hesitation, I abruptly left the meeting with my pack mates, my focus solely on uncovering the source of this disturbance. Arriving at the library, I stealthily maneuvered through the chaos, my heightened senses attuned to every sound and movement. The air crackled with an otherworldly energy, and my gaze swept through the room, searching for any sign of what had caused this disruption.

He wasn't escalating because he was losing control. He was escalating because he knew he was losing it. And unlike me, Chris didn't know how to exist without it. The thought stayed with me all night. Long after we returned home. Long after he fell asleep beside me. Long after the city outside faded into silence. I lay awake, one hand resting lightly against the curve of my stomach. Thinking. Observing. Learning. Because every move he made taught me something. Every tactic. Every narrative. Every carefully chosen word. And the more I learned, the more dangerous one realization became.

That would be a disaster but I think it had to be against the rules. Someone came to stand next to me, folding their hands across their chest. It was William. “I didn't know you were interested in stuff like this,” he said. I glanced at him. “I just started getting into it,” I replied. I took my eyes back to the game. “Jackson is really into stuff like this.” “Jackson, huh?” Once Speedy was out of stuff to throw, Jackson switched gears. The sports car pushed forward, gaining on Speedy who had a hard look on his face. When he noticed Jackson approaching, he would swerve, blocking whatever space Jackson could have used to overtake him.

I slammed the door shut and hauled ass into the driver's seat. 'Start the car. Wrench the wheel all the way to the side. Slam on the gas. Swear when it was much faster than I expected. Speed right out of the cave. Slam on brakes when you see the edge of a cliff just feet away.' Gemma screamed my name.

He warns before speeding up like his life depends on it. To save myself from a potential nasty fall, I grab his waist. He will either make us end up in jail or in the hospital by the end of the chase. That man looked so angry. I won't be surprised if he starts chasing after us. Great! That's man a chain of people chasing after thieves! Yay! “Why did you have to steal a bike? Now we are thieves trying to catch a thief!” I yell at him while he rides the bike with the speed of lightning. Dear God, I didn't know a bike could be ridden so fast!

Raindrops streaked across the windshield, obscuring the view momentarily, but Tony remained unfazed. As the gap between the two vehicles narrowed, Tony's grip on the steering wheel tightened. With a sudden burst of speed, the black sedan surged past the truck, leaving it in their wake. The tires screeched as Tony braked abruptly, bringing the car to a dramatic halt just inches in front of the stolen shipment.

Leon's speed had surpassed his and might have reached the level of the Advanced Almighty State. It was so surreal that the Scarlet Thief could not believe what he was seeing. Cornered by Leon's incredible speed, the Scarlet Thief launched a hasty counterattack in an attempt to nullify Leon's Earthly Plunder.

Was Ivan right, would another gang of thugs just take over? Ivan kept quiet, his hands white, wrapped around the steering wheel, eyes laser-focused ahead. This was the trickiest part. If someone recognised the vehicle they might try to take it. Looters don't just stop stealing once they get a taste for free things. Street after street of bookmakers, lodgings and inns finally petered out and we found ourselves heading down a long, gravel road that offered only endless night ahead. Without realising I breathed out, having held my breath the whole time. I leant my head back into the headrest and allowed myself a small smile.
