As he screams out, I drive the dagger into his chest and he falls to the ground. In general, rogues are weaker than wolves that belong to a pack. They don't have the strength that comes from the unity of being in a pack. Wolves are social creatures, and their wolves weaken significantly without that bond to an Alpha. Many rogues are on their own for years before they join other rogues, so they weaken a great deal. However, just because these rogues are weaker, they have the upper hand right now. With just four more to go, I can feel my body becoming sluggish. All my energy sources have been depleted in the last five weeks and I'm just running on pure adrenaline at this point.

I've never been so close and personal with an enemy capable of ending me with a twat from his hand before. To my surprise, Roger's lips eventually curl, and he laughs. He gently places me over his chest and closes his eyes. "So heal me then. Hurry, little wolf. I'm dying." Wait, what? Seriously? My fear blows away. Roger isn't as teasing as Caleb when he speaks. I mutter while crouching on top of him, blushing when I notice the hole is gone—the moronic alpha is almost entirely healed. I'm currently sitting over his abs.

I couldn't help but gulp, feeling a sudden rush of emotions. "What are you reading, baby boy?" Steve whispered into my ear, his breath sending shivers down my spine. I looked up to see his piercing blue eyes staring back at me. "It's... It's nothing." I stuttered, feeling my cheeks heat up with embarrassment. I pushed his hands away, trying to put some distance between us. I could see a little bit of sadness in his eyes but I didn't care. "Give my book back, Steve." I said. "What's so interesting about this book is that you are reading it with your mouth open. Let me see." He smirked, his eyes scanning the pages of my book.

With each passing moment, his anxiety grew, a knot of fear tightening in his chest. "You don't even know the difference between making love or force... You idiot..." Axel's voice taunted him, the words cutting deep into his soul. "I will take her away from you, remember Steve... I will take her from you forever, Mr. Rossi... and all you'll feel is regret..." The weight of Axel's threat bore down on Steve, filling him with a sense of dread and foreboding. He couldn't shake the feeling that their happiness was hanging by a thread, that at any moment, it could all come crashing down around them.

I ended up on a couch between Rose and Nate at one point. “Ugh. I’m getting sick of reading about rogues,” Rose complained. “Give me your phone. I want your opinion on this.” “No! I’m not letting you near my phone!” I handed my phone to Nate who put it in his pocket. “How can you be sick of rogues? You live off of those crappy werewolf novels.” “Well, I’ll admit that the last two years have opened my eyes to some faults in these.” She sighed. “I can now recognize the use of rogues in these stories for what they are.”

Chapter 86. Anna's POV My heart was racing in my chest as my wolf form charged forward with a lot of power and speed, my eyes fixed on Rogers. He shifted in a matter of seconds, swinging back at me as I dove into the air. We bounced back upon impact and I rolled on the floor. A loud growl escaped my throat as she ran towards him again, my muscles pouncing hard on the floor. However, before I could get to him a big black shape jumped out of nowhere, pouncing away Rogers and growled to announce his dominance.

Ryan opened his eyes again with his vision clear, all the pains were gone now and he could stand up, with a loud hiss, he sat up from the bed and there was a rush of sadness which enveloped him, his heart became so heavy that tears forced itself out of his eyes, He just recalled something, he just got to remember that his best friend was among the men who made him pass through that heart-shattering pain, Steve was watching him groan, Steve was watching him convulse in those excruciating pain yet he did nothing, he never cared if he dies, "What happened?" A smirk flickered across Rogers’ face again as he slowly lifted his head once more. "E-even if I talk… t-there’s nothing… nothing you can do, Luis," he stammered, shaking his head. "Not at all." Luis’ gaze darkened. "What the hell do you mean?" he growled, gritting his teeth. "What I mean is that…" Rogers struggled for words, his body already exhausted, like someone who’d run a 400-meter race alone and arrived at the finish line gasping for breath. That’s how he felt, but he forced himself to continue.

“Eventually, he’ll die, but my primary focus is helping Tatiana heal. In the meantime, we make this fucker suffer.” The way Roger’s gaze darkens tells me he likes the idea more than ever, but I have to wonder what percentage of what he’s saying is true. Sure, he doesn’t want Christopher to do this to someone else, but I fully believe he wants to paint the streets with his blood for a very different reason. Is it possible Roger cares deeper for Tatiana than I may have thought? I shake the thought away. No, Roger and Tatiana despise each other. This is revenge, plain and simple.
