At least, not at first. The first conflict arrived as a timing discrepancy, two commands issued close enough together to overlap, leaving a fraction of the formation uncertain which sequence took priority. Elias watched the hesitation ripple outward, bodies freezing for half a beat. He felt the urge rise, sharp, instinctive. Hold. The hesitation resolved itself unevenly. No one was injured. The formation limped through the sequence and Vale did not correct. The second conflict was spatial. Two units were routed toward the same corridor exit, spacing insufficient for safe passage. Elias saw it the moment the lines began to converge, the geometry wrong in a way that would not fix itself.

She leaned closer to the screen suspiciously, trying to make out something in the darkness. "Don't try anything funny…" She squinted, her attention completely absorbed by the dark shadow on her phone screen. Her body unconsciously leaned forward, completely exposing herself under the eaves. Right above her, a SWAT officer was already lying in wait on the roof. A black shadow dropped silently from above. Before Nadine could react, a powerful kick slammed into her shoulder. She did not even have time to scream before she was sent flying sideways. She crashed heavily into the mud two meters away, and the machete flew from her hand.

On high, the Hunters’ observation tower signaled withdrawal but Evelyn knew the real war was only beginning. --- Control Room Seraphim. A voice crackled over the radio: “Sir Alaric, Seraphim is back‑firing! Power systems have inverted! We can’t… stop it!” Alaric tightened his grip on a silver sword; a fanatical light shone in his eyes. “Good. Then let this flame burn everything. If blood is sin, I will be God’s hand.” He withdrew an emergency activation key, his voice like an oath: “Seraphim! Phase Two, engage.”
