A deep, calm voice replied, “This is Mr. Stone. I’ll be there in ten minutes. Turn off the water valve if you can find it, miss.” I tried to stop the water but made it worse. When the doorbell rang, I ran to open it. Mr. Stone stood there, tall and burly with strong arms covered in tattoos. He looked about thirty one. His uniform shirt stretched tight across his broad chest. He carried a heavy tool bag like it weighed nothing. “Show me the problem,” he said, stepping inside without wasting time. His deep voice made my stomach feel funny. I led him to the kitchen, my bare feet splashing in the water. “It’s coming from under there. I don’t know what happened.”

Anxious out of her wits when she felt someone staring at her. That was the first time she saw him. He had a cold look in his glacier-jade eyes. His face was stoic. He looked like the perfect definition of dangerous and sinister especially because of those cold eyes. He was so intimidating and daunting making it difficult for her to even breathe and he was the same now after all these months. The only difference was the light beard caressing his face.
