“The Carnal Codex is just volume one. Tomorrow, we can begin on volume two.” A slow, satisfied smile spread across Vlixyra’s face. It was going to be a very, very long assignment. And she was going to enjoy every minute of it.

He sat. He looked at the star Liam had drawn at the top of the fresh page. He looked at her. He picked up the crayon. He looked at the page. He began to draw. She watched him. He drew slowly. He drew nine figures first. The same nine. All of them. Then he drew a tenth. Small. In the space below the seventh. He gave it curly hair because Ada's curls deserved to be there from the beginning. He looked at the name in the seventh figure's space.

Sara "Please, listen to me, Layla," I said, voice shaky as I stepped into the room. Her hands were jerking open drawers, yanking clothes from the wardrobe with quick, angry movements. T-shirts, sweaters, everything she could grab—tossed into a pile on the bed. She wasn't looking at me. "Layla—please," I said again, stepping closer. She spun around. Her eyes were red, burning. Her voice was like a slap.

Ace chimed in, his eyes shining with pride. I couldn't help but smile at their infectious energy, feeling a warmth spread through my heart. Pushing aside my worries for a moment, I shifted my focus to them, eager to see their creations. "That's wonderful, sweeties! Let me see." I beckoned them closer, and they eagerly rushed over, holding their drawings into my hands. Luna's drawing shown a colorful garden scene, complete with flowers, butterflies, and a shining sun, while Ace's featured a tall tree laden with apples, surrounded by smiling stick-figure people.

Cliques had been established already and I couldn't break in . At first, the other kids weren't always mean . They didn't call me names . They didn't bully me . It all started to get worse in the month of November when Ms. Adams , my teacher asked us to write about our favorite thing in the world . I wrote my favorite thing to be the ability to see the midnight black sky with the shinny stars . It was a whole three page essay mixed with lots of emotions but the other kids considered it nonsense . While the teacher read my essay to the class they laughed out loud pointing fingers at me .

For this reason, I decided to move all then into strange short stories, that is already a storybook of different themes. The w******l policy does not allow me to remove or delete those books, so they will remain there but as a "paused" book. You can find only the introduction of those books on w******l and no else more. But there you can find some covers I made for those stories and that I can not upload here. The stories of a single chapter will continue to be published, of course. Each volume of Strange short stories will have 3 medium-sized stories and about 10 short stories.

They ate the food in silence. After eating, they moved to the living room debating on which movie to watch. "Let's watch Lion King" nafisa suggested . "And why? "Khadija questioned. "Do I look like a baby to you "she added. Nafisa dropped the topic of watching cartoons before her cousin would take it far, they decided on watching The Meg which nafisa found weird . She doesn't like action or romantic movies, she would rather watch cartoon for the rest of her life. The movie was scary to fawaz, he wasn't familiar with such big fishes.

"Because I like it." Santiago replied as he strode into the studio. Then, he picked up a pen and doodled on a piece of blank drawing paper. Raeleigh followed him inside and watched him for a moment, confused with what was going on. After a short while, he set the pen and paper aside. She stared at the scribbles on the paper and noticed a few intertwined characters. The characters joined together and formed an abstract painting. Bemused, she held up the drawing and examined it. Santiago pointed at it and said, "There are two sides to every story, and each side of this drawing is a different pattern. Take a good look. What's on this side, and what's on that side?"

“Who did the artwork?” Junior perked up a little. “I did. This one’s a dragon. See the teeth?” Nevena leaned in slightly, squinting. “A fire breathing dragon. I love it.” He pushed out a real smile, “Can you draw?” he asked. “Stick figures and crooked stars. But I’m a fast learner.”She replied with a shrug. Unhesitatingly, Junior dug in his backpack, pulling out a marker, and handing it to her like a silent invitation.
