Chapter 38 - Reborn Alora What happens after death? Most believe that you enter the Veil, your lost loved ones all waiting to greet you on the other side. But what happens for those who are made, not born or a true life force? What happens when they die? Do they just disappear and become nothing but matter in time and space? Is there an afterlife for them too? If that were true, then when would it happen? When would I feel myself fade away and become whatever it was I would become?

Una asked. She was at the edge of life and death; it would not be a surprise if she crossed over. The old men usually said that there is only a thin line between life and death and it seemed like she had successfully crossed over it. "The afterlife?" Irkal asked confused. She was unaware of what that statement meant. "Is this not the afterlife?" Una asked. "I am sorry, but I do not know what you mean by that," Irkal said, tempted to add honour to it, but she did not want to be too hasty.

Your soul just goes there to stay for a while. Researching more about Afterlife,I found out that in very rare cases some people do pass from the Afterlife to another life. Normally this happens to people who have uncompleted jobs on planet Earth,they will be sent back as another person to go complete the job and then they will die and get back to spend their eternity at the place they were supposed to.

But now that I heard her voice, a prickling sensation ran through me. What was going on? ‘You’re in between,’ she told me. ‘In between what?’ I asked. ‘In between death and the afterlife. This is death, Eden. This space. This is the space between life and the afterlife.’ ‘What is that?’ I asked, pointing to the white abyss. ‘That’s the afterlife,’ she said. ‘And any moment now, you’ll be pulled into the abyss. That’s where your afterlife awaits you.’ I looked to the white abyss. ‘But that’s where the others went,’ I said, confused.

I thought he had been asleep for a while. I nodded, as if he could see that. “Yeah, and you know what? Earlier when she hugged me, she whispered something to me.” "What?" Auden opened his eyes and looked at me. I told him what Manang told me. “It’s just nothing, okay. Don’t think too much about that. Blessing and death are both part of life," he said as if he is educating me. I also don't want to believe but what Manang Tere said bothers me. I nodded at him in agreement with what he said. I wonder how many of us had she met for her to be so comfortable believing my stories. “From all the stories I’ve heard, I’ve come up with a theory as to why we came here in the first place. I believe that when we die in our world, we die at the same time the person in this world dies. It’s possible that their soul is in our body, in our world but there are no guarantees if that is true. It’s certainly possible.” She said. I agree; if our souls found their way here then their souls could find their way back to our old bodies too.
