My Billionaire Ex-husband Won't Call It Quit
"Mommy, can we read two stories tonight? Not just one?"
I raised an eyebrow, fighting a smile. "Two stories? You're getting greedy, mister."
"Please?" He deployed the full force of those brown eyes, the same ones I saw in the mirror every morning, now weaponized against me.
"Okay, two stories," I conceded, already reaching for his current favorites. "But no more sneaky requests after that, deal?"
"Deal!" He snuggled closer, small fingers tracing the illustrations as I read about dragons and knights, magical forests and brave adventurers. His commentary grew slower, sleepier, until finally, his breathing evened out against my shoulder.
