"How many people are on a team?" "A group, minimum of two, maximum of 10." Asher immediately understood. He looked at Brian. Then Flora. Mr. Marcus smiled. "Exactly." Flora's expression fell. "No." Mr. Marcus laughed. "You're not getting out of this one." "But—" "The three highest-performing students in the class were selected and also slots are open for two more interested students."

"Fine, you may have won this hand, but the competition isn't over yet," he growled, glaring at Amber and Axel. "Let's see who's the best at storytelling, shall we? After all, mass communication is all about spineless journalism and regurgitating facts. You wouldn't know real storytelling if it hit you in the face."

’ The New World Emperor nodded at Florian beside him with that thought in mind. Florian immediately understood him and took a step forward before loudly saying, “Everyone, today’s literary competition preliminary round is to write an essay with any topic of your choice. It could be anything—Astronomy, Geography, Chess, Music, Calligraphy, Art, Ranking Formations, or even World Governance. Just write what you’re good at!”

Akata was about to pounce on the offensive but Merindale held his arm. “ What's going on? ” she demanded, grabbing another student who was running past them. “ They are taking submissions. We will be competing for the Ride Amongst Stars. The first one after decades. ” she chirped, super excited. “ What was that about? ” Akata asked, a little confused. Merindale smiled and explained all about the much coveted event. “Is it that special? ”Akata asked. It was clear that he had no interest in the matter but since it held special meaning for Merindale, it was an opportunity for him to pay her back.

Matilda asked, rolling her eyes. “Yes!” He exclaimed. “A month's vacation to a relaxation pack in Johannesburg!” The students screamed and clapped. “The competition is in 4 weeks so you have less than a month to prepare and to perfect your skills. We only need 3 winners including their partners, making it 6 qualifiers. Who is going to emerge as the winner? The best partners would be the winners and I can't wait to see you all in action.” When he was done with his announcement, they cheered and clapped.

Ibukun glanced at her, wondering if she had just cried about Bolaji and her sudden drop in friends and admirers. “Yes, good,” he said, and turning to Ibukun, who shook her head no, he explained, “The Competition is in its maiden year. It’s for SS3 students only. It takes place in May, after your SSCE exams. For now, only schools from five states are open to competing; Lagos, Abia, Jos, Oyo and Rivers. The exam would also be purely oral.”
