His Untold Lies
I pulled the rest of the berry out of his hand and turned on my heel, marching back toward Ares.
"Watch your step, hon," Ares said, looking up from his basket.
I slowed my pace and held the berry out to him. He looked at it, his brows furrowing in confusion, but before I could explain, he reached out, took the strawberry, and popped the entire thing into his mouth.
Oh, god.
That wasn't the plan. I just wanted him to nibble the side I had bitten into.
"What?" Ares asked, chewing.
"Uh—nothing," I stammered, looking away. "It's really sweet, right?"
