It took another week before Purity was up and moving on her own. Libidi and Pru weren’t around the house much as they worked at STRAYTIS for Lasci, who was ready to get things back to normal. He hadn’t heard or felt the stranger that had visited last week but was on guard, keeping a close eye on Purity.

For three full minutes, no one comes near me. The dining hall resets, benches scraping, bowls being refilled, conversations rising and falling in wavelets that skirt the edges of real violence.
