“Who are you working for?” Straight to the point. No games. No threats. Just one question. Sharon huffed. “Like I’m going to give you a name.” She rolled her eyes dramatically. “As far as you know…” She shrugged her shoulders once. “We just hate you.” The confidence in her voice almost made me laugh. She genuinely believed she had control of this conversation. Traci slowly closed her eyes. When she opened them again, brilliant gold stared back at us. A faint silver glow shimmered beneath her skin. Magic quietly filled the room. She lifted one hand. Without touching a single thing, Sharon’s chair jerked off the floor.

They would be able to capture a fragile sweet little slut easily now. While they had a well-thought-out plan, reality just gave them a slap in the face ferociously. Shaelyn did not show the slightest fear or panic. On the contrary, she sneered while her eyes glowed. She did not retreat and advanced by charging forward at once. Then, she delivered a series of punches and kicks. She took on the guys without blinking. Raiden was good too, but Tai made it look effortless. The two guys were being beaten. The odds were in Tai and Raiden's favour. Outside the front gate the infected had breached the first section of the barrier. Sharon raised her weapon, the closest infected lunged forward, and she shot it dead.

We were all laughing, which was a rare, occurrence when another sound interrupted us. A shrill, cold laugh from behind us which made us turned together toward it. Sharon stood at the edge of the training field. She looked neat and calm, dressed in a simple grey dress. But her eyes were like black stones, full of poison. She had appeared silently, like the snake she was. “Finally,” Andre said coldly and stepped forward. “The snake comes out of her hole. The two figures snarled and attacked again, one trying to fly at Sharon Spark's face, the other two hitting her legs. She spun around, barely staying on her feet. They were moving too fast to follow. Sharon wrapped one around the neck as he tried to crawl past her, driving him to the ground. He snarled, and rolled clear of her before she could pin him. The others had drawn in, and moved slowly in a circle around them, waiting for the first opening to strike. Sharon waited, coiled, letting them make the first move. She was big, but stupid enough to expend energy in a wild attack. They were trying to distract her, but why?

I'll admit, I'm not the best fighter the pack has ever seen, but I was the most observant. Tara's strikes were always rushed and frenzied without any strategy. Sharon always got onto Tara's ass about that and said she'd underestimate her enemies and overestimate her abilities one day, and she would be dead as a result.
