Swirling the glass in my hand to mix the amber liquid with the ice, I sigh again. “It’s not just any girl…” I trail off before glancing back up at her. “She’s my mate.” I expected an excited squeal from my sister and she delivered promptly. Launching herself at me, she nearly knocks the glass from my hand until I hold up my palm for her to stop. The disappointment on her face is palpable, but unlike her, meeting my mate was not something I actually wanted.

I remeber I told Micheal she is my mate, something I am yet to reveal to her. Frankly, I am not looking forward to telling her. Something tells me she will fight me on this. Maybe her fighting me will not be a bad thing. The idea of getting her to submission thrills me.

Matt POV My mate is beautiful and timid. After what she has been through, I don’t blame her. At night though, I stay with her in her room until she falls asleep. Then I go to my room and go to bed. I’m respecting her privacy and of course, I am not going to take advantage of her.
