Human warmth was the best way to beat chilly weather.
She sat in silence and didn’t force him to answer, eyes closed as she listened to him breathing and his heart beating against his chest.
The soft, chilly breeze lightly kissed her on her cheeks, making her open her eyes. “Look at the sunset,” her tone pleasing to the ear. Pointing at the shadow of the sun from the pond. “When I’m sad and frustrated with life, I always look for a sunset. After it sets, darkness fills the sky. But it’s that promise of the morning sun the following day that reminds me life goes on, and this too shall pass.”
