I push my backpack under my desk at Supernatural Studies and smile at Melanie that she returns. Professor Ward bustles inside with her braided hair tied back at the nape of her neck. "Good afternoon, class." She sounds almost like she's singing a song. We repeat her phrase and I pull out my notebook, ready for her lecture. She has a way of making the stories and social studies of the supernatural feel like a fanciful fairy tale. Where I can ignore the reality of vampires draining people of blood, of werewolves ripping humans to shreds, or witches hexing and cursing people.

" I don't get it, what's special about this library and these books?" " You can find anything you want about werewolves, witches, and vampires. Also, they're written by supernatural creatures. Meaning, every piece of information here is a correct one." " Can I find something about hybrids?" I asked him, and with a wink on his face, he answered. " Who knows? Perhaps, or you might also found something that would lead you a step closer to who you are." As I was about to ask him something else, he spoke perverting me from adding any other world.

I searched the werewolf research database on my phone for a while, hunting for anything I could find on one sided mate bonds or small wolf forms. When my search was once again fruitless — as I should have known it would be — I switched to those paranormal romance stories I found that first night after I met Taryn. I needed something to distract me from the ache caused by our distance. I’d had to weed through a lot of terrible books, but I eventually found a few authors who seemed to know what they were writing about. Maybe those authors are supernaturals in disguise. I lift my phone and tap the button that snoozes my alarm, setting it back down on my chest all without even opening my eyes. B
