His eyes were bright with excitement. This wasn't the broken man I'd left. This was Blake in his element. Political theater. Playing on people's fears for personal gain. "For years, certain individuals with... unnatural abilities have hidden in our communities. They look like us. They live among us. But they are not us." My blood went cold. He was really doing it. Exposing the supernatural world. "These creatures have superhuman strength. They can change their appearance. They hunt in packs like wild animals. And they have been responsible for numerous disappearances and deaths across the country."

“If humans stop the kidnapping, it becomes a human crime.” “And if supernatural beings stop it?” “It becomes proof of monsters.” Zenith came to stand beside me. “And if they see us?” I looked at her. “Then we make sure what they see is people saving people.” Outside, the supernatural factions began moving. Not as armies. Not under banners. As individuals. Wolves. Vampires. Witches. Rogues. Humans. Different histories. Different blood. One purpose. Koa's monitor suddenly flashed red. “The convoy has stopped.”

I said, and he squinted his eyebrows. “What? This doesn`t make sense. How my parents being human summarized what the fuck happened to me, and why I woke up here in the middle of this clearing.” He said, and I took a deep breath. “Let me explain something not many know…” I sighed. “A couple of supernaturals most likely will have supernatural offspring, but in rare cases, they just get human offspring,” I said, and he squinted his eyebrows. “We call them recessive supernaturals,” I explained.

That was why the supernaturals traveled through leylines, even though the portals were unstable and dangerous. Warren’s chaos also brought the supernaturals into the light, since the playing field had been leveled when civilization was crippled and humans lost their most lethal weapon—technology. With magic coming to the fore, so did the supernatural beings. Now shifters, witches, and vampires ruled over the west region of North America, each species taking a territory and constantly fighting each other for dominance. “Are you saying Warren is still on Earth when he should have hauled his ass home, wherever that is, a long time ago?” I asked.

"We need this investigated. Quickly." "Already on it," Sarah says. "Connor's not the only one reporting this. We've had cases across the country. All supernatural victims, all with the same symptoms." "Engineered?" "Too early to tell. But if it is, we're looking at bioterrorism charges. This would make the Order's attacks look merciful." The disease spreads. Ten supernatural deaths. Then twenty. Then fifty. Connor works around the clock, trying to find a cure, but progress is slow.

We never win. Most supernaturals will only marry their mates, even if we hope for more. This is where things always get complicated. Female mates are very territorial. If they find out that you are in love with their mates it can get you killed. I forced my mind back to the television. I struggled to get my mind to focus on the series, but once I cleared my head and actually watched, I realized that I actually quite enjoyed it. We just finished our third episode when I felt my eyes get heavy. I and the familiar pull of darkness. I didn't realize how tired I was until that moment. I let go and allowed myself to fall asleep.

I told him about how I found everyone I was looking for. “The weird thing is that I had many supernaturals come to find me. They asked if what the two of us were doing is true and when I told them yes they just gave me their DNA and blood.” I tell him. “Yeah, I have had a handful just randomly show up the last week and do the same thing. Seems like what we are doing is spreading around the supernatural community.” He explains. “I just hope that the conspirators don't find out,” I comment.

not like I could use it even if I wanted to. “No one knows, at least, no Supernatural knows, all we know it's an agency that found out one way or the other that Supernaturals, or mutants like they say, exist and ANTI’s solo goal was to end every Supernatural.” I don't know why this excited me, perhaps it was because my mother had told me little to nothing about the Supernatural world and hearing someone telling me a whole lot was wonderful. I had series of questions to ask her but I kept them all to myself, I didn't want to appear too pushy.

I asked, and it was my dad’s turn to sigh. “The conclave?” he said, and I shook my head in confusion, and he sighed again. “The Conclave have reports of supernaturals missing. They are being taken directly from the covens, cabals, courts, clans,” then he looked pointedly at Chase, “and the packs. So it is our business,” and Chase looked down guiltily.
