Sword Snow Stride Novel Translation Novels & Stories

*** Hyacinth *** The snow was falling steadily, each flake drifting through the air with a quiet grace before settling on the ground. The cold wrapped itself around me, sharper than I’d ever felt before, biting at my skin, seeping into my bones. Every breath felt like ice in my lungs, the chill so deep it seemed to crawl beneath my clothes, making my muscles stiff and unresponsive. This wasn’t just cold; it was a sharp, unforgiving kind of cold that seemed to gnaw at everything it touched.

The stranger stopped a few feet away from the wooden posts. Snow crunched loudly beneath his heavy winter boots while the cold mountain wind moved through the open space, whipping up a fine white powder that swirled between us. For a heavy moment, nobody spoke a single word. The man looked at me, then shifted his gaze to Takoda, and then right back to me again. A slow, knowing grin spread across his features, deep lines crinkling at the corners of his dark eyes.

Ariel left the clinic and walked slowly through the snow back to the family housing compound. When she reached the entrance, she found Remi standing there, his brow furrowed. "Where were you?" His tone softened slightly. "Are you really not feeling well?" He wanted to be angry, but her face was so pale that she really did look sick. Ariel's voice came out flat. "Yes. You pushed me to the ground yourself just now. Don't you remember?"

My long strides carried me down the stone corridors, past the heavy glass doors, and straight out into the freezing courtyard. The snowstorm raged violently. White flakes whipped through the air like sharp glass, covering the stone courtyard in deep, powdery drifts. I did not wear a heavy coat. My blood ran far too hot for the bitter cold to make a single difference. Walking past the crumbling stone structure of the old armory building, I stopped right beneath the torn barbed wire of the perimeter fence. Fresh, deep indentations lay in the snowbank on the other side of the stone wall. She had dropped hard, tumbled down the hill, and immediately started running north into the wilderness.

I gritted my teeth, throwing my entire body against the oak beam until the ice cracked with a sharp snap, and the door swung open into the biting winter air. The blizzard hit me like a physical wall. Snow whipped across my face, blinding me instantly, pinning my thin ivory gown against my skin. I didn't care. I stumbled out into the knee deep drifts of the outer courtyard, plunging blindly toward the towering timber palisades that separated the Citadel from the endless black expanse of the northern wilderness. Faster, little human!Sova urged, her internal presence surging warm against my chest, trying desperately to push heat through my freezing limbs.

REID The light coming in through the window the next morning is uncomfortably bright, reflecting off of the blanket of snow covering the ground. It must’ve snowed all night- we got several inches, and it’s just cold enough outside for it to stick. The significance of the snow isn’t lost on me. It means that Astrid’s vision of the battle with the shadow pack was accurate; that it’s coming to fruition. We’re officially out of time.

She was an intruder in this frozen domain, an unwanted guest in a realm ruled by winter's wrath. With each step, the snow crunched beneath her sandals, sinking up to her knees. The wind relentlessly whipped at her clothing, biting through her layers and numbing her limbs. She struggled against the blizzard's assault, stumbling forward, her body weakened by the bitter cold, her muscles aching with fatigue.

His voice, sharp as the wind, spoke the word: "Traitor." And there, kneeling in the white snow, was a man. He had Kael's proud bearing, his piercing blue eyes, filled with a grim acceptance. He did not protest. He merely bowed his head. A flash of steel—not an axe, but a sword—arced through the cold air. The sound was a terrible, wet crunch, a clash of metal against flesh and bone that sickened the very soul. The man crumpled, lifeless, his blood a shocking, vibrant pool of red that spread like a blasphemy across the pristine white snow.

Repetitive. She pulled her fur-lined shawl tighter around her shoulders as she stepped into the outer courtyard. Her boots crunched softly against the frozen path, snow glimmering like glass around her. It had been beautiful once. When they first arrived, the snow had seemed magical. Peaceful. Pure. But now, it just felt lonely. And endless.

“Charlie Greene.” Snow tilted her head, curiosity sparking in her gaze. “Unusual names, both of you. I’ve never heard anything like them.” Carter raised a brow, clearly ready with a quip—but this time he wisely held his tongue. “Where are we?” “You’re in the land of Dromador.” Snow’s sharp eyes flicked between us, lingering long enough to make my stomach twist. Then she turned toward the small hearth crackling in the corner and knelt, stirring the flames with a thin iron rod. Sparks scattered, lighting up her pale face and glinting off her blue eyes.
