It spun into the air where it froze. I mean, it hung there, nothing supporting it, no strings, right in front of my face.

“His name is Viex and he is one of my contracted spirits. He’s very fast and agile.” “Y-yes.” He nodded in agreement. “I-I can see that he is a magnificent creature.” “Mr. Wizard guy? I have a favor to ask you. You are a researcher, right? What do you think will happen when a magician, who dedicated his entire life to knowledge and magic, suddenly losses his ability?” I asked. Then, as expected, I saw the fear in his eyes. “Apparently, I can actually take their magic. But I sadly need a subject. Would you care to volunteer?” I smiled sweetly and gave Viex a nod.

"So, you know how I was at the office party last night?" She nodded, still eyeing the lipstick stain suspiciously. "Well, it was the most bizarre thing," I continued, trying to sound convincing. "There was this magician performing, and he was doing all these mind-boggling tricks. At one point, he asked for a volunteer, and guess who he picked?" She raised an eyebrow, her curiosity momentarily piqued. "You?" I nodded eagerly, hoping to convince her. "Yes, exactly! Can you believe it? Anyway, he had me pick a card from the deck, and then he did this incredible disappearing act with it. Poof! The card was gone."

The male performer from earlier appears before us, directing his question to Noah before taking me by the hand and leading me to the stage. "Nothing to fear. I'm only using you for a few of my magic tricks," he whispers in my ears. His accent shouted 'French!' "How would you like to float on air?" Minutes into his performance, and I really did float on air. It leaves the audience(and even me) bewildered. After that, he does a card trick, a hat trick where he removes the hat that has been laying on his head and pulls out a white rabbit inside, a pillow, a hammer, pairs of socks, and a bra. There is never a moment with him on the stage where I feel bored.

“Harlow… how did you do that?” “I don’t know,” I shrugged. “I just wanted it to be fixed, so I envisioned it flying away, and then it was.” The fact that he seemed surprised that I could do that was interesting to me. “Don’t the other magicians have the ability to do that? I asked, half joking, at least about the magicians part. “No,” he said, shaking his head. “I mean… not when they don’t even know who they are or what they’re doing.”
