Tali X Shepard Novels & Stories

Plates are full, cups overflow. Talia stands slowly, holding her glass. Her eyes sweep across the gathering—faces she knows, faces she’s just met, and those that once stood against her but now sit in peace. Her voice is steady, but her heart beats. "I don’t know how to begin this," she says. "Because I never knew I’d be standing here like this, alive and whole with all of you." She pauses and looks toward Bran, then at the table where Kaelith was supposed to sit, but she can't because she's still very sick.

A hand, cool and steady, pulled my hair back away from my face. “Wipe your mouth, Sienna,” Roxy’s voice was uncharacteristically soft, but her eyes were tracking the alleyway like a hawk as she handed me a handkerchief. Talia stepped forward, her sleek, straightened hair looking perfect even in the grime of the alley. She pulled her phone from her bag, the screen glowing bright against the darkness. She looked at Roxy, a silent, hesitant glance, before turning the screen toward me. “I didn't want to believe it either,” Talia whispered, her voice trembling with a shaky edge that I was too distraught to notice. “But after I saw him on that stage... I looked him up.”

Heavy boots slammed into the backs of the conspirators' legs, violently forcing the traditionalist warriors to their knees in the freezing mud directly beneath the shadow of Silas’s horrific granite grave. Taylon walked slowly towards the kneeling men. The golden ring of his Alpha beast burned so brightly in his icy blue eyes that it entirely illuminated his bruised face. Maeve descended the stone steps to stand at the edge of the courtyard, her posture perfectly straight, watching the men who had spent their entire lives treating her like dirt completely cower before her mate.

I commanded regaining my composure. “Please, please help me, my name is Layla. Please they are trying to kill me!” Her eyes welled up with tears as she flung herself at my feet. “Please, Alpha, please protect me.” With those words, she passed out. “Wade! Take her to the pack hospital, tell the doc to notify me immediately when she wakes up.” As Wade picked her up, I noticed a burn on her leg just below her knee. I had seen that mark before but, didn’t know where.

Elaina growled drawing the scepter she had just hidden. An electric buzz ran through it now warming Elaina’s hand. She let out a gasp as a spark flew from the three spikes at its end. Focusing all her energy she aimed at Rathial who seemed genuinely worried. A streak of blinding blue light flew from the sceptor rushing straight for Rathial. He opened his mouth in surprise as it struck him in the chest. He flinched, but didn’t seem to have been too hurt. Laughing Rathial took a step forward. “You really think that will defeat me?”

I pursed my lips to stop the words from tumbling out. The last thing I wanted was to give them something more to use against me. These people were strangers. Strangers helping you heal. Forcing the voice of logic from my mind, I closed my eyes and slowed my breathing, hoping that she’d think I’d fallen asleep. The mattress dipped when she moved. I flinched when something cold touched my skin and then silently cursed myself. “Wilder is mated to me, Knox, Seth, and Vesper,” Talia said softly. “Basically everyone in this apartment, and now you.”

Cut off and isolated from the general world. I looked at Tali, pointed for her to share her story. She cleared her throat. "Oh, sure, make me follow Ms. Ninja over here." She blew out a breath that disturbed her bangs. "I'm Tali. I'm an expert level Krav Maga practitioner. I recently escaped from and killed a number of the Night Terror gang in Russia. What I don't have in classic training, I make up for in sheer tenacity and stubbornness. If it needs to get done, I'll find a way to make it happen."

She will always be protected! I take a deep breath and say the words I never wanted to say with a shakily breath. At least I don’t have to wait for his response, “I Talia Everest, of the Everest Pack, hereby reject Shane Wilkins as my mate and I sever our connection the Moon Goddess had given us.” Searing pain rips through my chest as my heart shatters. The pain in my stomach worsens.

But I know if anyone can take these people down it’s her. I always worked the morning shift from eight till twelve. Then I spend the rest of the day with Talia. While Alicia likes to sleep in a little later and wakes up at ten and gets to work at twelve when I’m leaving. She comes back at four. Her and Talia cook dinner. I'm not much of a cook but I’m good at making the table and cleaning up. So Alicia and I just make up for each other’s lack. From twelve to three Talia and I train. I spend an hour with her on combat training, an hour on her special ability training and we spend an hour doing separate practice. I am now in the best shape I’ve ever been. I learned that Talia can boost my phys

He turned and walked away from her while touching his cheek. "Gael—" Tears fell one after another in her eyes due to the extreme pain she was feeling. She didn't know this would happen. She just wanted to confess to Gael. "Are you ok, Talu?" Kendric asked her. Besides Tali, Talu is also one of her nicknames but only Kendric calls her that. Her eyebrows met. "Why did you hurt him, Kendric?" She asked. Kendrick and Brielle are their firstborn. She is also eighteen while Kendric and Gael are twenty four.
