Myla’s POV I woke with a strange feeling in my stomach. Hunger? No. Fear? I laughed as I dismissed the idea. No. This is something else. Something telling me to be prepared. I hopped out of bed wishing I could take a day off. I never let anyone from my pack know that every once in a while, I would like a day off to just be a girl. Myla’s POV I led Cobalt to the packhouse. People whispered as we strolled by trying to guess why I had such a young boy following me to the packhouse instead of the jail. Finally, Barrett’s voice came through the pack link, “Alpha, has it happened? I headed to the exit, I heard it charge. It moved so silently that I wouldn’t have heard it if it wasn’t for my Alpha hearing. I spun around shifting before colliding with the body of the intruder. He was heavy, I stumbled back as his form slammed into me. Snarls and teeth-gnashing filled the air. I would not let this creature win. I bit down hard on his leg causing him to howl in pain.
