With all instructions issued, the sky outside was already beginning to lighten with the first hints of dawn. After I finished issuing all the commands, it was nearly dawn. I managed to steal a brief hour of rest before heading to the island where the wedding was to take place. I had only just emerged from the dressing room, freshly attired in my custom tuxedo, when a powerful grip suddenly clamped down on my arm. "Just what in the world do you think you're doing, Finn?" Dorothy demanded. "Do you have any idea how much irreversible damage your childish tantrum has caused?"

Chapter 14: Thrones Built from Ash Dominic’s declaration reverberated like a crack of thunder. Lana stared at the folder he slammed onto the table. “An heir?” she repeated, her voice caught between awe and disbelief. Malcolm didn’t move. His expression was cold granite, but his right hand twitched just once. “That’s impossible,” he finally said. “I would have known if Jonas left anything behind.” Dominic smiled, sharp and slow. “He left a lot. But you burned most of it. This one survived because someone trusted my mother to hide it.”

The incline was steep, and the steps were higher than expected. Every movement felt like a struggle because I wasn’t a great climber. One wrong step, and I could easily fall and break my neck. After what felt like an eternity, I finally reached the top. I leaned against the castle walls and gasped for breath. ''That was hell,'' I groaned and looked towards the enormous gate. The word Axel's Castle engraved at the center of the gate caught my attention.

Mondays at Knight Enterprises usually meant stacks of reports, Alex’s clipped orders, and Lily battling the printer that seemed to hate her personally. But that morning, the rhythm shifted when a sleek, cream-colored envelope arrived. It wasn’t the sort of invitation you could miss. Heavy cardstock, embossed lettering, the kind of thing that probably cost more than Lily’s rent. She plucked it from the receptionist’s desk with curiosity. “Ooh, fancy snail mail. Bet it’s a Hogwarts letter. Mr. Knight’s finally getting the magic school education he deserves.”

But as the movie approached its end, Lila’s smile began to fade. She noticed that something seemed off. A subtle shift in tone crept in—a quiet, haunting sense of melancholy that lingered just under the surface. It was almost unnoticeable, and Aaron and Winnie, still engrossed, didn’t seem to notice. Elara and Finn eventually reached a tower hidden by fog, where, they were told, an evil witch had imprisoned their mother. The children, with the help of the friends they’d made, bravely faced the witch, banishing her and freeing their mother at last. The air was thick with tension, each breath Alpha Edward and Alpha Daniel took felt weighted, as though the very atmosphere was conspiring against them. The derelict castle loomed ahead, its crumbling towers rising like jagged claws into the dark, clouded sky. Once a symbol of power and grandeur, the structure now seemed to embody decay and desolation. Cracked stones jutted out at odd angles, their once-precise edges weathered by years of abandonment. Thick, gnarled vines twisted their way up the ancient walls, their roots clawing into every available crevice as if seeking to claim the structure for nature.

The Windy Ocean is so close that I can hear the faint hiss of waves even after the gate closes behind us. Tansy Tower is a strange castle, as castles go. Striations of a hundred different browns, reds, and tans run through its stone like a massive layer cake. Here and there, shells and preserved sea creatures stud the surface. Spires rise from all corners, not half the height of those in Snowcrest and strung across with open-air bridges swaying under the weight of staff crossing them. Overall, it looks… fragile. Like one of the Windy Ocean’s famed waves could wash it away. Somehow, it has stood for centuries.
