The earth dragon girl leaps and lands on the leader, snapping at him while he snaps at her. I use my air to blow three of them back, away from the girls. “Hang on, Brooke!” the angel says, glancing at the girl on the ground who continues to writhe and scream in pain. The earth dragon screams in pain as the lizard hybrid bites her neck. The angel blows another stream of fire at them, causing the lizard to scream, but he has Tana’s fire too. It’s the earth dragon that seems to be hurt because of the fire, so I douse her with water as I land, spinning so my tail slams into the three who are up and rushing back in to help their friend.

Their nails elongated, curving slightly as their pupils stretched into thin, snake-like slits. Their legs melded together seamlessly, shifting from soft flesh into a long, coiling serpent tail-a stunning shade of teal that shimmered under the faint moonlight, perfectly complementing their hazel eyes. They giggled excitedly, flicking their forked tongues out as they twined around each other playfully.

Jax slipped into the driver’s seat, glancing at her before starting the truck. “You okay?” he asked quietly. She gave a short laugh, not looking at him. “Define ‘okay.’” Jax waited. Tora finally turned toward him, one brow arched. “Charlie said they’d either be dragons or lycans. No mix. One gene would dominate. But now we’ve got the doc saying they could be a blend. So which is it, huh? Are we gunna have a pair of fire-breathing moon-howlers? Fur-covered little flame-throwers?”
